Obituary - Carol Marie Henson

The Lord called Carol Marie Henson home on Saturday, April 2, 2022, surrounded by loved ones. Carol was born March 8, 1947 in Claremore OK. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Baker and her mother, Marie Baker, along with her sister, Elaine Baker.

Carol graduated Northeast High School, KC, Mo. Carol enjoyed all of her animals and spoke highly of her mother. Although she didn't have children of her own, she had love for all her nieces and nephews as they were her own. Carol had many neighbors that were considered family. She always made sure to write down everyone's information to ensure they got holiday and birthday cards which will be dearly missed.

Carol had a love for routine and the change of seasons. She always matched her home with the season. She enjoyed going shopping for new flowers to decorate her home. Carol had many cats and dogs that were treated as her children. She had two dogs in particular that kept her going, Bitsy and Henry.

She is dearly missed by her surviving family members, sisters Ida Smith, Vicky Baker, Judy Gyolog, brother Mike Baker, and several nieces and nephews.

BCMH Recognizes Patient Access Week

This week is Patient Access week when the Bates County Memorial Hospital recognizes our registration clerks, patient access representatives, and patient benefit advisors. Many times these members are the first point of contact for our patients, and kindness and warmth is so important for that first impression.

Often, they help patients who aren't feeling well, or who are feeling apprehensive and need support. Our Patient Access team needs to be efficient, accurate and friendly.

We commend these goodwill ambassadors in the Access Department for setting the standard of care that all our hospital staff aspires to achieve.

*ATTENTION*
Farmers in the Barton County area. We have recently taken a theft of copper wire on an irrigation system in rural Barton County.

Jasper County has also taken some similar reports as well. If you have game cameras or any way to monitor your irrigation systems please do!

Right now the price of copper is up which means the thefts will rise as well. Please be diligent and watch for suspicious activity in your area. A license plate, color, make and model of any vehicle will be a huge help in our investigation.
