Obituary - Diane Morgan Brown

Diane Morgan Brown, age 87, of Clinton, Missouri passed away on Monday, March 14, 2022, at the Lincoln Community Care Center in Lincoln, Missouri surrounded by her children. Diane had a zest for life, and was known for her love of family and friends. She displayed natural musical gifts through her distinctive style at the piano, and her singing with abandon.

Many enjoyed her "more-the-merrier" hospitality for over eighty years. She loved to laugh, play games, and cook for all who entered the warmth of her home. Those who called her Mom, Gram, Donie, Dee, and friend will greatly miss this woman of deep faith.

She was born in Orlando, Florida, in 1935, where she eventually met and married B.G. Brown. They were married 54 years before he passed away on July 2, 2008. They have three children: David (Elisa), of Dallas, Texas; Debbie (Jim), of Chilhowee, Missouri; and Danny, of Buffalo, Missouri.

Diane is survived by her children, nine grandchildren, and nineteen great-grandchildren.

She is buried at Carrsville Cemetery, Chilhowee, Missouri. A memorial and reunion with friends and family is planned for April 16, 2022, at 11:00 AM at her sons home (43 SW Route 58 Centerview, MO. 64019). Please feel free to attend.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Carrsville Cemetery and may be left in care of the funeral home.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home in Clinton, Missouri.

From Butler Fire Chief and Emergency Management Director Jason Bennett

From Fire Chief and Emergency Management Director Jason Bennett. If there is ever a Tornado Warning issued for the City of Butler there are two designated storm shelters offering their services.

The First Christian Church at 11 West Pine and the Community of Christ Church at 409 West Dakota. As always be prepared and monitor the weather conditions and do not depend on outdoor warning sirens to take shelter. You should always have an emergency supply kit to take with you.

You should have plenty of gas in your vehicle in the event of no power in the city. You should have a cell phone but keep in mind if there is damage to the cell towers their will be no service

Adrian Welcomes New Mayor, Alderman

IT'S OFFICIAL Mayor Pro tem Jeff Vick, Mayor Matt Cunningham and Alderman Jeremy Bridges took the oath last night during the regular session of the city council meeting. Before getting down to business, Mayor Cunningham made the following proclamation:

"I thank everyone for the support and well wishes and the offers of help. I look forward to working with the Board of Aldermen, city hall, department leaders, and the citizen's of Adrian.

I'd like to thank Hershel Cole and Bill Lunsford for all their hard work that they gave to this city. It has made us better. Let's keep Hershel in our prayers as he continues to fight illness.

As mayor of the great town of Adrian, I promise to the citizens and employees that I will be as attentive and committed as I have been as a husband and father and self employed businessman. While that's not a perfect record, just ask my family, I think they will agree to the consistency I have shown over the years. I promise to bring that same consistency here to city hall. I understand that this position does not hold much power. But it can influence power. I pray that God gives the board and I the wisdom to me the right choices for Adrian and the integrity to see them through.

There are obviously many things that need our attention. From the finances to the codes. From the dangerous properties to repaving the streets. We have our work cut out for us no doubt. I will do my best to continue on this direction of improvement that this board has already started. To accomplish these projects within these 4 main areas will indeed take all of us, including the employees, to listen to each other and be accountable to the tax payers of Adrian. Go Blackhawks!"

Matthew H. Cunningham
Adrian Mayor
