From the desk of Vernon County Sheriff Jason Mosher

Today is the final day of National Telecommunicators Week. We would like to recognize all of our emergency 911 dispatchers for what they do 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

They are our first contact during an emergency and our vital source of information throughout a call.

We rely on them for the communication we need to effectively respond to our community during criminal, medical, fire emergencies and everything in between.

Thank you for what you each day for our citizens

-Vernon County Sheriff Jason Mosher

Way to go!

Congratulations to Lauren Bailey, Clinton High School, and Annalee Gardner, Butler High School. They competed in Osage Valley's annual essay contest and won a trip to Washington DC. High school juniors from the cooperative’s service area were invited to participate in an essay contest with the topic being “What Are You Passionate About?”. Finalists were selected from the submitted essays for the interview round of the competition.

Approximately 100 Missouri high school juniors will join more than 1,500 students from across the country to experience a trip of a lifetime. The Missouri delegates will travel throughout Washington, DC visiting many of the sights our capital has to offer, learning about the political process, and interacting with their elected officials in June

Congratulations to our Winners!

Bates County Memorial Hospital celebrates Occupational Therapy Month

It's Occupational Therapy month and we want to shine a spotlight on two professionals providing OT services at BCMH with Rehabilitation Services: Annie Johnson, COTA (left) and Shanya Hedrick, OTR (right).

Annie and Shanya are pictured with one of their recent patients, Anne Wehage-Zickwolf. OT has helped Anne work to regain her grip and grasp and fine motor skills after hand surgery.

Annie and Shanya work with patients of all ages to live life to its fullest by helping them promote health, and prevent - or live better with - injury, illness or disability.

We're so grateful to have OT services in our community - thank you, Annie and Shanya!
