Clinton woman arrested in Bates County

On April 16th around 7:13 p.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County arrested 52 year old Rhonda J. Stoll of Clinton, Missouri

She was arrested on 1.) Felony Driving While Intoxicated 2.) Failure to maintain lane 3.) Failure to signal 4.) Driving While Revoked.

Rhonda J. Stoll was held at the Butler Police Department before being proceeded and released.

Hume man arrested in Bates County

On April 16th around 6:07 p.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County arrested 62 year old Dennis McClure of Hume, Missouri.

Mr. McClure was arrested for 1.) Driving While Intoxicated 2.) Speed 3.) Failure to maintain the right half of the roadway 4.) No seatbelt.

Dennis McClure was booked into the Bates County Jail in Butler and was processed and released.

Obituary - Irene Wright

Irene Wright passed away peacefully on April 15, 2022, at Appleton City Manor Nursing Home. Irene was the youngest of 11 kids, born July 10, 1933, to Charles and Mary (Johnson) Courm in Clinton, Missouri.

Irene married Wm. Albert Wright on August 24, 1951. To this union 2 children were born: Debbie Wright of Appleton City, Missouri, and Kelly Knepp (Clayton) of Appleton City, Missouri. She was a farm wife who loved to embroider and was most happy when she gave her creations to others. Her greatest joy came from her 2 grandchildren: Bailey Pearl James of Liberty, Missouri, and Clayton William Knepp IV of Appleton City, Missouri.

Irene was a member of the Prairie Queen Garden Club and a voting judge for the Monegaw Township for many years. She also helped raise many family members over the years and opened her home and table to everyone. You never left her table hungry!

Irene was preceded in death by her parents: Charles and Mary (Johnson) Courm, and her husband Wm. Albert Wright.

She will be greatly missed and loved unconditionally by all her family and friends.

Updated Obituary - Tina Lorene Nieder

Funeral services for Tina Nieder of Amsterdam, Missouri will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at Word of Life Church in Amsterdam, Missouri under the direction of Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) in Butler, Missouri. Visitation 5 - 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 19th at the Schowengerdt Chapel. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Butler. Contributions to Word of Life Church in Amsterdam or Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Tina Lorene Nieder, age 83 of Amsterdam, Missouri died Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at her home. She was born March 12, 1939 to Elmer Samuel and Nora Ellen Laning King in Rich Hill, Missouri.

Tina, the only daughter and youngest of four children, grew up in Rich Hill, Missouri where she graduated from Rich Hill High School in 1957. Tina worked at Bell Telephone in Kansas City, Missouri and then as a switch board operator in Rich Hill, Missouri before her marriage. 

On September 28, 1960, she married Elvin Eugene Nieder and to this union, three sons were born. They made their farmstead home in Amsterdam, Missouri where Tina worked beside Elvin in the milk barn, was a homemaker and mother and sold Avon for over 30 years. Tina was baptized in 1972 and has been an active member of the Amsterdam United Methodist Church now known as the Amsterdam Word of Life Church. She also was a member of WMAT and MA Women's Auxiliary.

Tina is described as being loving, kindhearted, patient, caring and a devoted Christian. She enjoyed gardening, flower shopping, cooking, family reunions and vacationing with the Nieder siblings. Tina cherished her family and lovingly babysat all children–not only her own but all the neighborhood kids as well. Tina leaves a legacy of memories to her family and friends.

Tina is survived by three sons of Amsterdam, Missouri, 1) Alan Nieder and wife Jackie and their children and grandchildren, Allison Amerson and husband Brian (Layne, Jeremiah and William), Miles Nieder and wife Kristin and Emily Nieder, 2) Les Nieder and wife Marcia and their children and grandchildren, Brandon Nieder and wife Carli (Lawson and Myla), Josh Nieder and wife Brittany (Brayden, Brielle and Brigham), Colby Nieder and wife Amanda (Brandon, Tinley and Carson) and 3) Wes Nieder and wife Pam and their daughter and grandchildren, Jennifer Erickson and husband Mitchell (Liam and Gabriella); and three sisters-in-law, Nancy Armentrout of Amsterdam, Missouri, Reta King of Papinville, Missouri and Carolyn King of Rich Hill, Missouri. Tina was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elvin Eugene Nieder; and three brothers, Alfred King, Paul King and Junior King.

Golden City man injured in Barton County rollover accident

On April 16th around 10:20 p.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Barton County along with Barton County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a one vehicle rollover accident around 5 miles northwest of Lamar on V Highway.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2005 GMC 1500 driven by 20 year old Jacob L. Wilson of Golden City, Missouri traveled off the left side of the roadway, struck a ditch and overturned.

Mr. Wilson sustained moderate injuries in this accident and he was transported by ambulance to Freeman West Hospital in Joplin for treatment.
