Storm report from Evergy

Storms throughout our service area last night caused more than 30,000 customers to lose power with parts of Butler County, Kan. most impacted. A huge thank you to our Evergy crews 💙💚, which made great progress over night, restoring power for more than 85 percent of impacted customers.

We currently have about 1250 customers without power in Butler County (down from 9,000 last night) and continue to make progress. With just a few hours of daylight for our crews to work with, we do not have an estimate for restoration for outages in the Kansas City or Wichita areas and ask for your patience as our crews work safely to restore power to the remaining customers. You can follow our progress at https://outagemap.evergy.com.

As a reminder, watch for downed power lines. Tree limbs that are near power lines may come into contact with power lines if you’re trying to move or remove them. Please assume anything is still energized and maintain a safe distance. 💙💚

BCMH gets new UTV

Each year, the Bates County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary donates a portion of their fundraising and gift shop proceeds to purchase needed equipment at BCMH.

One of the projects they wished to support was a new UTV for Operations Management, which has already proved to be pretty handy in the maintenance of our buildings and grounds.

Thank you, Auxiliary!

Nevada License Office without Internet at this time

Due to the storms last night our internet and phones are out!

We have contacted the internet provider and they have to send a tech out so at this point it’s a waiting game on the tech. If a tech can’t be there by 9:30 we will close the office for today.

We are terrible sorry for any inconvenience this may cause! We will update on this post with any updates!
