Nevada man escapes serious injury after crash in Bates County

On May 1st around 6:55 a.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County along with Bates County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a one vehicle accident in the north bound lanes of I-49 near mile marker 127.2 in rural Bates County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2010 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 39 year old Joshua D, Seitz of Nevada, Missouri traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a guardrail.

Mr. Seitz sustained minor injuries but he refused medical treatment from Bates County EMS at the scene of the accident.

The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene of the accident by Douty's Tow of Butler.

Miami County Sheriff's Office assists in police pursuit

Tonight Miami County Sheriff's Deputies were called to assist the Anderson County Sheriffs Office with an incident involving a vehicle traveling on 169 Highway.

The vehicle was observed on 169 Highway where it was stopped in the area of 343rd street. An occupant fled from the vehicle and was picked up in the immediate area by another vehicle which then fled.

Paola Police Department located the vehicle and began pursuing it until Deputies were able to assist.

Deputies continues to pursue the vehicle into Johnson County where a tire deflation device was used to disable the vehicle. One person was taken into custody.

This continues to be a multi-jurisdictional investigation with Anderson, Miami and Johnson counties. The Paola Police Department, Osawatomie Police Department and the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks assisted with the incident.

Vehicle rolls over and kills Windsor man

On April 30th around 10:02 a.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Johnson County along with Johnson County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a fatal accident at an address of 1262 Highway WW in rural Johnson County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when 76 year old Robert W. Johnson of Windsor, Missouri exited the his vehicle and fell, at which time the vehicle ran over Mr. Johnson.

Robert W. Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene of this accident at 10:53 a.m. and his body was transported to Hadley Funeral Home in Windsor.

Deceased male found in Adrian

On April 29, 2022 at approximately 1330hrs I responded to the 300 block of east 8th Street in city of Adrian at the request of Adrian Police. 

A male had been found deceased in his residence by a friend. Death is due to natural causes.

Update from Osage Valley Electric Cooperative 11:15 a.m.

11:15a.m.: Osage Valley Electric Cooperative Crews continue to work an outage affecting members in the Peculiar area where a vehicle struck a pole.

The crews are now able to access the area and will begin replacing the pole. Restoration could take a few more hours.

We appreciate your patience as crews work to make these repairs.

Two vehicle accident in Cass County

On April 29th around 1:46 p.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County along with Cass County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident on Route D at 195th Road in rural Cass County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 1993 Honda Accord driven by 57 year old Katherine A. McCollom of Paola, Kansas made a left turn and traveled into the path and was struck by the 2017 Chevrolet Suburban driven by 39 year old Amy E. Threlkeld of Bucyrus, Kansas.

Katherine A. McCollom sustained serious injuries in this accident and she was transported by ambulance to Research Medical Center in Kansas City for treatment.
