No more thunderstorms today

Storms all around us today, but nope, not here as we are in the doughnut hole! 

Once these last few morning showers move out of the area we'll have partly cloudy skies and highs in the upper 70s to lower 80s.

Thank you to all who purchased off the caffeine cart, allowed the many classroom interruptions, or supported in any way!

Butler R-5 High School Honor's Day set for May 19th

Butler R-5 High School Honor's Day will be this Thursday (May 19) at 1 pm in the auditorium.

Parents are welcome to attend but MUST check in at the office between 12:30 and 1 pm.

The awards ceremony can also be heard on the radio at KMAM/KMOE FM92



Structure Fire In Belton

Tonight, the Belton Fire Department responded to a fire at a multi-family residence in the area of Spring Valley Road and Bel-Ray Blvd. 

The fire was confined to the kitchen of the apartment. The occupants were able to escape without injuries.

This fire is currently under investigation.

Belton Police Department looking for 12 year old male

The Belton Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in locating 12 year old Taven Evans. Taven was last seen at his home in the 500 block of Tumbleweed on 5-17-22 at 5:30 PM.

Taven was last seen wearing a black jack-o-lantern t shirt, patched jeans and black / red shoes.

Anyone with information on Taven's whereabouts is asked to contact the Belton Police Department at 816-331-1500.

UPDATE: Taven has been located and is safe.

Adrian man arrested on warrant

On May 17th around 3:35 p.m. the Adrian Police Department arrested 32 year old Garamee C. Cooper of Adrian, Missouri.

Mr. Cooper was arrested on 1.) Bates County Sheriff's Office Warrant - Sex Offender physically present/loiter within 500 feet of a park/playground/pool/ - 1st Offense.

Garamee C. Cooper was booked into the Bates County Jail in Butler and he is currently being held on a $4,500 cash/surety only bond.

Cooper is listed on the Missouri State Sex Offender Registry as a Tier Level 2 Offender. You can find that information below:
