Visitation will be held between 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at Hill and Son Funeral Home in Appleton City, Missouri.

Interment will be in Appleton City Cemetery, Appleton City, Missouri.

The family suggests memorial donations to be given to the Missouri Right To Life or the Samaritan’s Purse and may be left at the funeral home.

Charles Lee Moore of Appleton City, Missouri, departed this life on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at the age of 84 after several months of declining health. He passed peacefully with his beloved wife, Donna, and their family by his side.

Charles was born January 30, 1938 to Claude Lee and Jessie Lee (Wilkerson) Moore in Appleton City and was the oldest of three children. He graduated from Appleton City High School with the class of 1956 and went directly into the workforce. He married Donna Ruth Bilyeu on June 26, 1959 and to this union four children were born.

Charles was an extremely hard worker who never met a stranger and was a very devoted family man. Few could match his talents in a game of wits and he was very well known for his jokes, storytelling and teasing, as attested to by his children, grandchildren and coffee buddies. He loved nothing more than a good practical joke and he took great pleasure in the reactions he got from them. His homemade buttermilk pancakes were second to none and a favorite at family dinners.

Charles is survived by his wife of 62 years; four children: Jeff (Alicia) Moore, Dianne (Daryl) Foster, Denise (Sam) Fuller, and Dana Swaters; ten grandchildren: Amber (Aaron) Farrar, Chelsi (Bryan) Borland, Casie (Chris) Kohlstaedt, Trey (Melissa) Foster, Ian Foster, Haiden (Bridget) Fuller, Aubrey (Logan) Siegismund, Haleigh (Bret) Thomas, Emma and Alex Swaters; nine great-grandchildren and a sister, Sandra (Mike) Cain. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jim Moore. Charles will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
