Participants will have a chance to hand paint some plastic crankbaits provided by MDC, and they can go fishing at the hatchery education pond. Anglers may also bring their own gear and any bait not carried in water. MDC staff and volunteers will also assist new anglers with casting, handling equipment, and handling fish. Sunday's Severe Weather Outlook

Active weather is expected much of the upcoming week as rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected to roll through the region. Showers and thunderstorms are possible this morning into the afternoon, but are not expected to be severe.

A complex of storms is expected to develop across central Kansas and Nebraska this evening, moving into the region overnight. These storms could produce gusty winds, hail, and locally heavy rainfall leading to flash flooding.
