Obituary - Pauline Ash

Pauline Ash passed away on Saturday, June 5, 2022 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. A memorial service for Pauline will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Vansant-Mills Chapel in Clinton. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 AM prior to the service. Inurnment will follow in Englewood Cemetery in Clinton, Missouri.

Pauline was born on November 22, 1931 near Brownington, Missouri to James Daniel and Mary Gertrude (Draper) Hamblin. She was a graduate of Clinton High School, class of 1949 and worked at Mattingly’s and Montgomery Ward Order Office in Clinton.

Pauline married Robert Charles Ash on January of 1962 and lived in Overland Park, Kansas until moving back to Clinton in 1995. She was employed by Parke-Davis Pharmaceuticals for twenty years and then became an Associate of Marion Laboratories as Supervisor of Customer Service before retiring in July 1994.

When Pauline returned to Clinton she became a volunteer with Golden Valley Memorial Hospital Auxiliary serving in the Gift Shop, the Information Desk and Medical Clinic. She also became a Full time employee of the Clinton School District in 1997 and retired in 2013.

Pauline was preceded in death by her husband Robert Charles Ash, parents James Daniel and Mary Gertrude Hamblin, her brothers, James Leonard, Linville Clark, Estell D. Hamblin, Elvin M. Hamblin and wife Juanita, and Dennis D and wife Faye, and sister Nadene Kathryn Hamblin Junkin. She is survived by 20 nieces and nephews which she claimed as her own, and many relatives and friends. She is also survived by Princess her 17 year old Chihuahua.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home in Clinton, Missouri.

The Harrisonville Police Department is requesting your help in fighting crime by taking part in the Residential Camera Program (RCP). The RCP allows residents to register the locations of their video surveillance cameras. 

When a crime occurs, the department will be able to identify where cameras are located and work together with the community to help officers collect video evidence and follow-up on leads.

We believe this will help build better community-police partnerships here in Harrisonville.

City of Adrian Meeting June 7th

The City of Adrian Board of Zoning Appeals will hold a meeting to act on a special use permit application for a for a Dog Boarding Business at 405 North Virginia in Adrian, Missouri.

The meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 7th 2022 at 6:oo p.m. at City Hall, 16 East 5th Street, Adrian, Missouri.

Obituary -Jonathan Scott Valentine

Jonathan Valentine, 51, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, passed away on May 24, 2022. He was born September 11, 1970, in Santa Barbara, California.

He grew up in Biloxi, Mississippi and graduated from Harrisonville High School in 1988. Jon retired from the Family Support Division after 33 years of public service.

Jon is survived by his wife of 30 years, Carolyn Valentine; his daughter Kaitlin Massart, along with son in law Benjamin Massart, grandson Rhys Massart, and eagerly anticipated granddaughter, Lillian Massart; his son, Jacob Valentine and Jake's girlfriend, Cara Owen, all of Lee's Summit, Missouri; his parents Donald and Karen Valentine of Lee's Summit; his brother Matthew Valentine of Greenwood, Missouri, and brother Noah Valentine of St. Louis.

Jon will be remembered for his love of family, silly jokes and being a man of his word. His unexpected loss leaves a huge hole in our hearts and lives but his love and memory will continue.

Cremation. No services scheduled at this time.

Clinton teen injured in Henry County crash

On June 6th around 9:10 p.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Henry County along with Henry County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a one vehicle accident on Missouri 18 Highway East of CR SW 801 Road in rural Henry County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2012 GMC Terrain driven by 19 year old Delaney K. McGuire of Clinton, Missouri struck a deer in the roadway.

Delaney K. McGuire sustained minor injuries and she was transported by private vehicle to Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton for treatment.

Obituary - Charles Randy Ross

Charles Randy Ross, age 68, of Rich Hill, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family and friends. He was born on August 17, 1953, in Bates County Missouri, the son of Charlie and Lavon (Barker) Ross.

He was untied in marriage to Brenda (Davidson) Ross in 1984, and to this union two daughters were born. He had one daughter and one son from a previous marriage.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Lavon; his step-mother, Lillian Ross; brother, Bobby Ross; sister, Vickie Koehn; and one son, Justin Ross.

Randy is survived by his wife, Brenda Ross of the home; three daughters, Krystal (Ross) Horning and husband Jeff, Chasity Ross, and Brandy (Ross) Pritchett and husband Scotty; 11 grandkids; one brother, Boone Ross and wife Vickie; and sisters, Robin Leer and husband Clinton, and Terry Robbins, all of Rich Hill, Missouri.

Randy enjoyed spending time with his kids, grandkids, and his longtime friends, Tom Breckenridge, Bo Turner, Eddie Gilkey, Eddie McClay, and many more. He loved to take his dog “Sissy” on long scooter rides, loved watching his westerns, and loved the 4th of July.

Randy was loved by many. He always stayed positive even though he was sick, he never let it get him down.

Randy will be deeply missed.

Obituary - Donnie Cox

Donnie Cox, age 67, passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2022 at his home in Clinton, Missouri.

Donnie Ray Cox was born on June 10, 1954 in Chilhowee, Missouri to Melvin and Martha (Elliott) Cox.

Donnie worked and retired from Stahls in Kingsville, Missouri. He loved fishing, and hunting, and spending time with family.

He is survived by his sons Jeremy Cox, Jamey Cox, Matt Cox, Ben Cox, and daughter Racheal Cox.
