Obituary - Larry Little

Larry Little, age 73, passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2022 at his home in Warsaw, Missouri. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, June 17, 2022 at the White Oak Cemetery in Urich, Missouri. Memorial contributions can be made to C.A.R.E and can be left in care of the funeral home.

Larry Little born on October 7, 1948 to Rayma and Darrell Little. Larry enjoyed Go Karts as a child, then drag racing in his 20’s. He also ran modified midgets and lastly went back to go karts. He had a love of all racing.

He married Marylin Wassam on December 28, 1998. He was a born again Christian and was baptized at the Allen Street Baptist Church. Locally he worked for Clearfield Cheese, Tracker and later retired form UMC as a Boiler Tech.

He is survived by his wife Marylin of the home, 3 children Lonnie Hindman (Oklahoma), Laura Dull (Oklahoma) , and Doug Little (Marshall MO) , one Step son Michael Anderson (Sedalia MO), and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his Mother and Father, Rayma and Darrell Little, and Brother Jerry Little.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home in Clinton, Missouri.

Nevada Elks Lodge #564 Flag Day Ceremony

Today at 6:30 pm the Elks Lodge #564 Nevada, Missouri will host a Flag Day Ceremony. 

This is a community event. It will be hot. It will be held outside in front of our Flag Array. Yes, it is hot, we are under a heat advisory. 

Please do not put your health at risk. You are more than welcome to enjoy our hospitality inside the Lodge.

Our veterans did not have a choice to sit inside when they sacrificed for our freedoms.

There will be a reception inside immediately after.

We look forward to hearing from you!



Bates County Stampede Rodeo set for July 9th

We are looking forward to a wonderful event, great food, great stock, and amazing cowboys and cowgirls! All support is so greatly appreciated.

Our stock contractor is Rodeo Gold Productions. I am so excited to work with them and bring another amazing rodeo to the city of Butler, and Bates County!

Obituary - Doris Ilene Garrett

Doris Ilene Garrett, 92, of Adrian, MO passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. 

Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Victory Assembly of God Church in Adrian, MO. 

Funeral Service will be on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at 1:30 PM at Victory Assembly of God Church in Adrian, MO. Interment will follow at Crescent Hill Cemetery.

Obituary - Roland Harley Allen

Roland Harley Allen, age 74, of Schell City, MO, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2022, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, MO following a sudden illness.

Harley was born January 30, 1948, in Appleton City, MO to Roland Claud and Catherine Marie (Valentine) Allen. He had worked in Maintenance Construction and enjoyed playing his guitar, playing croquet, fishing, and hunting coons, squirrels, and rabbits. He had attended the Schell City Baptist Church.

Harley is survived by two brothers, Robert (Carol) Allen, McCook, NE and Ralph Allen, Butler, MO; one sister, Ruth (Harold) Woodcock, El Dorado Springs, MO; his girlfriend, Jennie Wright; three daughters, Jill Allen, Kathy Allen and Holly Smith; several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were two sons, Roland Harley Allen Jr. and Walter Scott Allen: two brothers, Wayne Allen and John Claude Allen, as well as one sister, Rose Marie Allen.

A Celebration of Life Service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 17, 2022, at the Schell City Baptist Church.
