Obituary - Clay Bryant

Arlie Clayton Bryant, age 83, passed from this life into eternity on Saturday, June 18, 2022, in Sheldon, Missouri.

Clay was born June 13, 1939, in St. Paul, Arkansas to James David and Marguerite Bryant. Clay’s fondest childhood memories were spent at his paternal grandparents’ farm. He enjoyed it so much, he let his cousins talk him into getting off the school bus at their stop – even knowing his daddy was not going to be happy when he came to walk him back home.

In 1950, the family moved to California and at age 13 Clay got his first job mucking out horse stalls for Clarence Stockstill.

A cowboy was born.

After high school, one of his first jobs was working for the water company laying pipe. That job was the start to a life-long career in welding. Clay enjoyed his work and the craftmanship of designing and building with pipe and metal. He built horse trailers, horse stalls, corrals and even stainless-steel belt buckles. While for many years he was home every night for dinner, the job required travel. In 1969 the family moved to Idaho, where he joined the Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 296 – Boise, Idaho. His work took him throughout the Gem state, neighboring western states, and around the world. He was a traveling man.

Clay lived for horses, breeding and riding cutting horses during the last half of his life. He competed in local cutting events and was a three time World Qualifier and AQHA 4th in Nation Amateur 2001, and many other titles with his beloved San Mans Alibi. He enjoyed country living and farming a few acres of hay. After retiring, he wanted to be closer to his mother in her elder years. And, although his roots ran deep in Arkansas soil, 150 miles was close enough, so he bought a farm in Missouri.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Adkins Cemetery in St. Paul, Arkansas.

Obituary - Cynthia Ann Walters

Cynthia Ann Walters was born June 30, 1954, to Clarence and Shirley Havens. She grew up in Illinois with her siblings Debbie, Sam, Randy, Nancy and Brenda.

In 1971, Cindy met the love of her life, Harold Walter's. On Valentine’s Day of that year Cindy sent Harold a teddy bear and a letter while he was in basic training. They quickly became a couple, and she wrote him a letter every day. Harold was deployed to Germany after his training. They both knew they were soulmates, and they couldn't bear being apart, so Cindy flew overseas, and they were married shortly after in Barnstorf, Germany, on September 8, 1972.

Once Cindy and Harold were united back in the States, they decided to start their family. In 1974 their first child, Joshua, was born. Four years later they had their daughter, Angela.

Cindy would spend most of their childhood being a stay-at-home mom, teaching and loving them. Cindy also enjoyed picking up shifts at her parents’ truckstop/diner in Stockton, Illinois.

Throughout the years, Harold’s job would require a few moves to different states, but they eventually settled in El Dorado Springs, MO. Cindy began making saddles and tack, and ultimately opened El Dorado Saddle and Tack. She spent many years operating this business out of her basement in El Dorado Springs, before they moved back to Illinois and began operating her business on a bigger scale.

During her time in Illinois, Cindy battled and survived various cancers and aneurysms. In 2017, when Cindy was given a clean bill of health, she and Harold decided they would retire from their business and move to Walker, Missouri to be near their children and grandchildren.

Cindy always enjoyed doing home remodeling projects, crafts, gardening, and sewing. She was capable of creating many wonderful projects with her hands and vision. She also enjoyed having family gatherings and cookouts with her children and grandchildren. Every Fall, Cindy and Harold would harvest their garden and Cindy would spend weeks in the kitchen preserving their hard work.

Cindy succumbed to her short battle with cancer on June 20, 2022

Cindy is preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Shirley Havens

Cindy is survived by her husband, Harold Walters; a son, Joshua and his wife Nicole of Walker, MO; a daughter, Angela and her spouse Amanda of El Dorado Springs, MO; grandchildren, Skylar Walters, Draven Walters, Dorrian Walters, Daniel Wyatt, Skieler Wyatt, Katlynn Wyatt, and Carlee Cooper; two brothers, Sam Havens and his wife Rosemary of Freeport, IL and Randy Havens of Kentucky: three sisters, Debbie Jordan and her husband David of Cedarville, IL, Brenda Lopez and her husband Simon of Emporia, KS, and Nancy Brown and her husband Tim of Tennessee

Cindy is also survived by the many brothers and sisters she gained in her marriage to Harold: Allen (Cindy), Clarence (Laura), Vickie (Ed), Tim (Jami), Karen (Jerry), Gloria (Randy), Jenny (Jeff). Cindy is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Ferry Funeral Home.
