We are going to push the parade back to 1pm with parade lineup starting at 12:30 at 1st and Clark.

All park activities are cancelled but we will continue with Cosmic Bingo with doors opening at 5pm and bingo starting at 7pm. Fireworks at dark.


Osage Valley Electric Cooperative reporting power outages in Peculiar

Some Osage Valley Electric Cooperative members in the Peculiar area are experiencing an outage at this time.

Crews have been dispatched and power will be restored as safely and as soon as possible.

Traffic alert for July 5th

Traffic alert: Crews will be closing the 140th St, ramp to northbound Interstate 49 in Grandview as part of the City of Grandview’s I-49 Outer Road Conversion Project. 

This is a TOTAL CLOSURE and will begin at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 5, until construction of the new entrance ramp to northbound I-49 is completed in approximately late July.

 Widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected Saturday morning. But the coverage of storms will decrease by the afternoon and evening with most areas likely seeing dry conditions.

A similar trend is expected Sunday with scattered showers and storms in the morning with more isolated precipitation during the afternoon.

Dry conditions are expected Sunday evening. Monday looks hot with only isolated afternoon storms expected.



Independence woman arrested in Bates County

On July 2nd around 1:52 a.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County arrested 39 year old Courtney M. Eaton of Independence, Missouri.

She was arrested for the following charges:
1.) Driving While Intoxicated - Persistent Offender 
2.) Fail to signal

Courtney M. Eaton was booked into the Bates County Jail in Butler and she was later released.

Good job ladies!!

One of the things we did at Medicalodges Butler during CNA week was have a guessing game. Each wing had a to guess how many pieces of candy were in each pitcher. 

Congratulations to our winners - Jeness Everman and Samantha Laning. Good job girls!!
