Military Appreciation Night at Electric City Speedway set for July 22nd

This coming Friday, July 22 will be Mission 22 and military appreciation night at the races! All current military and veterans will receive free general admission. Mission 22 works hard to bring awareness and help to veteran suicide.

We ha have had some folks add money for next week and will have added money for the pure stock class paying $500 to win, the usra stock cars paying $750, and Midwest mods will be paying $500.

This will be added on top of our normal pay so second place will be what first would normally pay and so ok.

As always we have the 3 tier pay to go by and with 20 or more you get the top tier plus another $1000 added to the purse. Let’s show up big this week in support of our troops!

Obituary - Catherine Snyder

Catherine May Dearborn Snyder, Lowry City, MO was born June 4, 1936, in Bonanza, Oregon to Charles Wesley and Grace Edna (Brown) Dearborn. She passed from this life July 14, 2022, at the age of 86.

Catherine grew up on the family ranch where she enjoyed helping her dad with livestock, chores, riding horses, and participating in 4-H with many beef projects.

Catherine enjoyed dancing. After graduation from high school, at a community dance, she caught the eye of a feisty young man from Missouri who also liked to dance.

Catherine and Harold were married December 18, 1955 and were blessed with 66 years together. Shortly after their marriage, they settled in Missouri where Catherine was a homemaker and mother. She accepted the Lord and was baptized January 17, 1965, and served actively in the church choir, Bible and Sunday School, and Sunday dinners at Park Grove Church. She was also a member of Faith and Hope Club.

Catherine had a garden and canned and froze the produce, as well as sharing it with family and friends. She derived much joy from cooking and preparing meals for others. Everyone was always welcome at her table.

Catherine worked as a teacher’s aide in the Lowry City School District for a number of years, and later worked as a teller at St. Clair County State Bank until her retirement.

Catherine and Harold also enjoyed playing cards, and hosted many card parties through the years, often including homemade ice cream to share. They enjoyed square dancing, especially in the Apple Dumplings Square Dance Club.

Although her death was sudden, and unexpected, we can only suspect that God was having a hard time managing Harold without her and needed her help!

Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold, brothers: Bill Dearborn, and Henry Dearborn, infant sister Margie Sue, daughter Kay Miller and son-in-law Dan Minich.

She is survived by her brother Fred (Cheri) Dearborn, sister-in-law Fran Dearborn, daughters: Karen Minich, and Diana (Tony) Smith, son Jim (Jo) Snyder, and son-in-law Mitch Miller, grandchildren: Ryan Miller, Lindsey (Chad) Jolley, Kaitlyn (Travis) Palmer, Traci (Steve) Uptegrove, LeAnn (Justin) Bull, Megan Pflug (Andrew Boyce), Tyler (Crystal) Smith, Travis (Whitney) Smith, Dustin (Jennifer) Stephens, Ashley Davis, Seth (Anna) Snyder, 20 great grandchildren, and nephews and nieces.

She will be missed.
