Obituary - Willa Mae (Jackson) Jones

Willa Mae (Jackson) Jones lived to be ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­75 years, 5 months, and 16 days. She was born in Vernon County, MO on January 30, 1947. She was predeceased by her parents, Willis and Naoma (White) Jackson; sister, Zo Ann Moore; brother, Brad Jackson; and three daughters, Julie Brown, Kimberley Nave, and Cindi Smith.

She is survived by her husband Paul W. Jones Sr. of the home; sister, Mary Alice Jeserick of Kansas City, MO; and two children, Paul W. Jones Jr., and Virgilena Mae Shriver (Chip). She also leaves behind to cherish her memory 10 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren. Willa and Paul were married for 56 years and lived in Mound City, KS. She retired from Deluxe Checks after almost 20 years of service as a binding operator. Prior employment included Textron Aviation Service in Wellington, KS.

Willa was a member of the Mine Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Pleasanton, KS and was baptized in Little Sugar Creek, Mound City, KS. Willa attended the Mound City United Methodist Church and enjoyed participating in the women’s Bible study group.

Celebration of Life service will be held at 89 South Mine Creek Dr. Mound City, KS 66056 beginning at 11:00am on Tuesday July 19, 2022. The inurnment service will be at Prescott Cemetery, Prescott, KS on Saturday August 6, 2022 at 11:00am.

Obituary - Kathleen Owen

Kathy was born February 25, 1945 in Omaha, Nebraska to Bernard & Leona Kaminski.

Kathy married her childhood sweetheart, Richard Owen on December 1, 1962. The two were each other’s lifelong companions and best friends. They even shared the same birthday! She loved being a wife, mom, grandma and great grandma.

Kathy is survived by her children, Richard (Joan) Owen of Waco NE; Teresa (Jim) Kostusik of Stilwell, KS; Leann (Michael) Gauntt of Belton, MO; Nancy (Scott) Hilworth of Butler, MO; Joanna (Chris) Rueckert of Colorado Springs, CO and also 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Kathy is also survived by her sister Mary Jo Dellutri and three brothers – Bernard Kaminski, Gary Kaminski and Dennis (Nita) Kaminski as well as many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother Robert Kaminski.

Visitation will be Friday July 22 between 10 – 11 am with Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11am at St. Sabina Catholic Church - 700 Travis Ave Belton, Missouri 64012 followed by a Catholic Rite of Committal at the Belton Cemetery.

Obituary - Patricia Ann Dennis Denkler

Patricia Ann Dennis Denkler finished her earthly journey on July 12, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving and caring family. Ms. Denkler was born in Independence, Missouri on October 9, 1941 to Henry Wesley Dennis and Rosalie McKinley Tabor who raised Patty in Belton, Missouri. Patty spent most of working years as a bookkeeper for various companies. Patricia married Herman K. Denkler in Belton, Missouri on February 5, 1960 and had three children.

Patty is survived by her children Curtis R. Denkler (Rose), Teresa Lynne Dupepe (Nick), and Charles Wayne Denkler; grandchildren Dustin Lee Denkler, Diana Lynne Posey, Kyle Benjamin Denkler, Monique Marie Almond, Kelly Raye Gazlay, Terra Elizabeth Gazlay, Cole Dupepe, and Janell Dupepe, Valorie Powell and Brett Anthony Denkler; great-grandchildren Dustin Lee Denkler, Jr., Anzleigh Lakyn Sims, Heaven McKayleigh Posey, Jaxon Rees Olivencia, MaLeaha Hope Posey, Preston Carden Sims, Isaiah Blake Denkler, Darryl Wylde Denkler, Maddox Rae Almond and Peyton James Denkler. She is also survived by half-sisters Cynthia Weir and Mary Allen, and Anita Saulsgiver and two half-brothers Dale Dennis and Robert Bridegan and a host of nieces and nephews. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; brother Wendall Ray Dennis; half-brother Francis Eugene Bridegan; and baby brother Riley Lee Bridegan.

Patricia will be remembered as a caring, compassionate and giving soul. She will be missed dearly.

Yes, it’s an election year…

After those statements are made, the public always has the option to go directly to them with further questions or concerns. This is how it’s been done literally since the inception of news reporting and we’re not about to try to change that now.
