Assistant Prosecutor LaChrisha Gray filed the murder charge on behalf of the State of Missouri on July 18, 2022, after reviewing the allegations presented by the Clinton Police

The case stems from an investigation into a shooting that occurred on July 17, 2022 at Artesian Park in Clinton. According to the probable cause statement filed in the case, Brauer fired multiple rounds at numerous individuals involved in the incident.

At the age of 12, Gar went to live on a dairy farm, where he helped milk cows and do other chores.

He graduated from Smithville High School where he excelled in football and track, receiving a track scholarship to Otterbein College where he studied Physical Education and English. During this time, he married his high school sweetheart, Carol Byler, and to this marriage two children were born.
