Obituary - Carole Parslow Runnenburger

Carole Parslow Runnenburger, 87, of Harrisonville, MO passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at Carnegie Village in Belton, MO. 

Memorial Services will be on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Harrisonville, Missouri with a luncheon to follow services at the church. 

Private inurnment will take place at Orient Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Episcopal Church or to the Dr. William Baker Choral Foundation.

Obituary - Karen Sue Cumpton

Funeral services for Karen Cumpton of Archie, Missouri will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 29, 2022 at Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) in Butler, Missouri.

Karen Sue Cumpton, age 77 of Archie, Missouri, formerly of Butler, Missouri died Sunday, July 24, 2022 at her daughter’s home in Topeka, Kansas. She was born December 4, 1944 to Walter Henry and Grace Edna White Lawrence in Kansas City, Missouri.

Karen, one of two children, grew up in Butler, Missouri. She attended Wilcox grade school in rural Passaic and graduated from Butler High School in 1963. She married Robert Leroy Cumpton Sr. on July 12, 1964 and to this union seven children were born. Karen worked at the House of Lloyd in Grandview, Missouri for 12 years and recently retired from Golden Years Nursing Home in Harrisonville, Missouri. She attended the Pleasant Hill Christian Church.

Karen is described as loving, kind, generous and giving to a fault. She lived to work and enjoyed pastimes of reading, doing word searches and puzzle books, browsing and shopping for hours, playing cards, traveling, going to the casino . . . and wine tasting with sister Mary Lou. She dearly loved her family “where hearts give freely and love prevails, where secrets are told and sweet memories live, it’s where we began and where we will end, my family all my love I give.”

Karen is survived by two sons, RC Cumpton and wife Carrie of Adrian, Missouri and Jeff Cumpton of Archie, Missouri; three daughters, Rhonda Morrow and husband Josh of Topeka, Kansas, Kerri Biggs and husband Ron of Archie, Missouri and Diana Robards and husband Michael of Adrian, Missouri; one sister, Mary Lou Wheelock of Olathe, Kansas; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren plus two on the way; and two nieces. Karen was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Leroy; and two sons, Robert “Robbie” Leroy Cumpton Jr. and Earl Henry Cumpton.

Obituary - Ray F. Jones

Funeral Services for Ray F. Jones will be held on Friday July 29, 2022 at Hill & Son Funeral Home in Appleton City, Missouri at 1:00pm.

A family visitation will be also be held on Friday July 29, 2022 at Hill & Son Funeral Home in Appleton City, Missouri from 12:00-1:00pm. The officiant will be the Rev. Bob Fenwick.

Interment will take place following funeral services at Appleton City Cemetery Memorial donations may be given to the First Christian Church of Appleton City

Obituary - Kamala Antle

Kamala Antle, age 25, passed away on Monday, July 25, 2022 at her home in Urich, Missouri. Kamala's wishes were to be cremated. There are no services scheduled at this time. For her love of animals memorial contributions can be made to Pete & Mac's Pet Resort or C.A.R.E. and can be left in care of the funeral home.

Kamala had a love of animals, music, and poetry. And was compassionate towards animals of all kinds, snakes, spiders and turtles were her favorites. She worked with dogs and cats that were being boarded. She was lighthearted but loved the dark humor and true crime. Spelling and grammar were her pet peeves. Kamala loved to read and write.

She was survived by her Fiancé, Chris Evans, her parents, Bryan and Jennifer Antle, her sister, Rebeca Antle, and brother, William Walker, her grandparents; Richard L. Antle, William C. Walker, Becky Walker, her aunts/uncles; Richelle Plude, Daryl Plude, David Walker, Brian Walker, and seven cousins.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home in Clinton, Missouri.

Bates County Route BB bridge over South Deepwater Branch east of Butler will be CLOSED

The #BatesCo Route BB bridge over South Deepwater Branch east of #Butler will be CLOSED for up to 84 days to have its driving surface replaced starting the week of August 1st.

This bridge is included in Missouri Governor Mike Parson’s $351 million Focus on Bridges program, which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state.

Contractor crews will remove the bridge deck/driving surface and replace it with a new surface. The project also includes new barrier walls, striping and guardrail at the ends of the bridge.

Weather and/or scheduling delays will alter the work schedule.
