A letter from the Bates County Republican Central Committee Chairman, Mark Goebel:

A letter from the Bates County Republican Central Committee Chairman, Mark Goebel:

To the voters of Bates County, Missouri: Tuesday, August 2, 2022 will be an important day for not only our nation, but also our county, be sure you vote. Before you do, here are a few things for you to keep in mind.

I am happy to see that there are a lot of Republicans running in this mid-term election. With so many options, it can be difficult to know which way to cast your vote.

My first bit of advice would be to do a little research. It won’t take much work to see what platforms each one is campaigning on. Be sure that their campaigns are true to the conservative Republican ticket.

Don’t get sidetracked by fancy mailers or distracted by elaborate ads, and don’t count campaign signs to judge a candidate’s popularity. A sign in one’s yard doesn’t always signify a vote.

Look for the candidates that are in line with your beliefs and concerns. You’ll see a lot of endorsements on every level of the election, they are nice, but the majority of those are applied for by the candidates in applications. They answer enough questions correctly they get an endorsement, so those can be manipulated.

Another thing to consider is to look at the supporters of the candidate, sometimes that says more about a candidate’s motive than anything. Do the supporters and sponsors hold up to the Republican standard, and what motivates them to support a particular candidate? Is there a motive there that might benefit them, rather than the voters?

Also, keep in mind the candidates that made an effort to visit Bates County, if they didn’t care enough to visit before the election, they sure won’t care about us afterwards.

Finally, don’t listen to petty rumors, especially small-town gossip, often times those things are started to create confusion and frustration on purpose.

All of the scare tactics of distraction, rumors, and confusion are creations of other parties that have been used many times before and as Republicans we are all too familiar with them. Be mindful of that, and before you ask, yes, RINOs do exist and they are out there on every level.

That is why I ask that you do your research and hold true to the Republican party and you will be able to see through the deception and lies.

In Bates County we are fortunate to have secure elections with plenty of checks and balances, but we know on the national level things are not secure and have been tampered with, let’s hope that doesn’t happen this time around.

That is why your vote in this election is so very important. Bates County Republicans have made great strides in securing a larger Republican presence in the county, and we are working to do so on the state and national level. With your vote on the Republican ticket, we are all closer to better things!
