Richard Ray Baynes, of Nevada, MO, went to be with Jesus at Moore-Few Care Center, Saturday, July 30, 2022. He was born on December 2, 1933, at Ft. Scott, KS Mercy Hospital to Raymond C. Baynes and Opal Ruth (Carter) Baynes of Deerfield, MO.

Richard attended elementary school in Deerfield, MO, Ft. Scott, KS and two Vernon County rural schools, Peasant Ridge and Star. His freshman year of high school was at Walker, MO and graduated in 1952 from Nevada High School. His favorite classes were AG and enjoyed FFA and shop. He made several items, but a cedar chest was a beautiful work. His first job was as a stock boy at Maxwell’s Grocery. His first job driving a semi-truck was for Horace Johnson, hauling grain. He owned and operated an MFA Service Station for a few years, then bought his own semi-rig and was an over the road truck driver, hauling and pulling various loads.

Richard enjoyed speed boating and had lots of fun on the lakes. Another interest in his younger years, was drag racing his Ford Interceptor at Pittsburg, KS races and brought home a trophy or two. Motorcycles were another hobby of his, but later in life, he said it became more dangerous to be out on the road now.

Richard was quite a man and usually stayed in the background, just listening to conversations. He was a meek and humble tender-hearted man. He was concerned about his family even while he was so ill. He loved the Lord and attended Central Christian Center, Joplin, MO, where he was baptized before he came to Nevada to care for his ailing mother. He will be deeply missed.

Richard is survived by his sister, Kay Coiner and her husband Larry, Neosho, MO; two nephews, Brian Coiner, Neosho and Eric Coiner and his wife Sarah, Olathe, KS; two great nephews, Aiden and Liam Coiner, Olathe, KS, and one great niece, Emma Coiner, Olathe, KS; and several cousins sprinkled across the U.S.A. Obituary - Douglas Delbert Williams

Douglas Delbert Williams, “Doug” to all that knew him, peacefully passed away on July 22, 2022. Graveside memorial services will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, October 15, 2022 in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery near Harrisonville, Missouri. Services under the direction of Mullinax Funeral Home, Drexel Chapel (816-657-4400). Messages of condolence may be left for the family at www.mullinaxfuneralhome.com.

Doug was born on August 31, 1953 in California to Dwaine and Bernadine Williams. He was the youngest of three and at a young age, he and his family moved to Denver, Colorado where Doug was raised and graduated from Bear Creek High School. He later moved to Longmont, Colorado with his former spouse and their two children where he worked building homes. After a couple of years, the family moved to Sandpoint, ID and spent a winter managing a hotel and doing what Doug always loved to do, experiencing the wilderness. After a brief return to Colorado, the family moved to Campbell County, Wyoming. Doug raised his two young children, Nathan and Reggie, solely for five years before marrying Connie McCreedy, the woman he cherished, adored and would spend the rest of his life with. His union with Connie blended two families that brought together a son and four daughters that he took great pride in providing for, protecting and nurturing. Doug would later retire from a successful career in the natural gas industry and live the rest of his life in retirement, enjoying his family and his home in Wright, WY.

Doug could not have been more happy living anywhere but in Wyoming. He loved the beauty of the wide-open spaces, freedom to live how he chose and the down-to-earth community for whom he shared many values. Although he did not necessarily enjoy the harsh Wyoming winter weather, he tolerated it because it brought the opportunity to snow ski and he felt that it helped to keep the “riff-raff” away. His first priority in life was God, but his family was his passion and a close second. Most of his vacation time was spent hunting across the state of Wyoming, which brought him much joy, relaxation and contentment. He rarely missed a hunting season and particularly enjoyed elk hunting in the higher elevations. He spent considerable time working on and around his home, which brought him a sense of accomplishment and would always be his preferred place to be as long as family was there with him.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father, brother Jerry (Vickie), daughter Stephanie (Bennie) Donnelly, granddaughters Victoria Williams Litle and Anna Williams, and great-granddaughter Penelope Litle. He is survived by his wife of 37 years Connie Williams, daughters Robin Beckman, Melinda Merchant (Larry) and Reggie Claflin (Paul), son Nathan Williams (Leah), sister Jackie Bronson, brothers-in-law Randy (Roseann) Moore and Dannie Moore, sister-in-law Charlene (Wayne) Varns, 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
