Merle A. Beckman, age 86, Mound City, Kansas passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2022. He was born on October 5, 1935 in Fontana, Kansas the son of Charles and Neeva Neal Beckman.
He is survived by his wife Gloria, four sons, Raymond Beckman(Lori), Richard Beckman(Lauri), Rande Beckman(Sharon), and Cleve Beckman(Brenda), one daughter, Chilesa Bruner(Van), a sister, Edna Debrick, sixteen grandchildren, and twenty four great grandchildren.

Obituary - Dale Edwin Baird
Dale Edwin Baird, 69, Bronaugh, MO, passed away on Friday, August 05, 2022 at his home in Bronaugh following a lengthy illness. Dale was born October 29, 1952 in Parsons, KS to Martin E. and Letta M. (Devore) Baird. He married Lois Johnston on April 16, 1971 in Arcadia, KS and she survives of the home.
Dale, the son of a preacher, lived in Oklahoma while growing up. He graduated from Nevada High School Class of 1971. Following high school, he lived for 23 years in West Richland, WA, while working for the Hanford Nuclear Reservation. He came back to Vernon County in 1996 where he worked for 3M in Nevada for 18 years until his retirement. Dale was a Little League baseball coach for many years in Washington, was a longtime member of the Elks Lodge, and coached the Little League for Elks. Every other year he traveled from Washington to Oklahoma with his family and kids in a blue van to visit his parents, always driving a different route each time in order to see different parts of the country. He attended Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Garland, KS.
In addition to his wife, Lois, he is survived by two daughters, Lisa Johnson (Gene), Bronaugh, MO, and Leticia Mahoney (Jeffery, II), Nevada, MO; a son, Caleb Baird (Heather), Sheldon, MO; six grandchildren, Breanna Moore (Chris), Shyanne Johnson, Cassandra St. George, Jeffery Mahoney, III (Brie), Zachery Mahoney, and Mateah Baird; five great-grandchildren, Bentley, Blaine, Casey, Linley, Paisley; two brothers, David Baird (Terri), Grove, OK, and Dwayne Baird, Ashville, NC; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Pastor Rick Womack and Pastor Kolbe Starnes officiating. Interment will follow in Sheffield Cemetery in Arcadia, KS. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested in his memory to the Alzheimer’s Association or Sheffield Cemetery Association c/o Ferry Funeral Home.

Obituary - Eugene A. Kihn
Eugene A. Kihn, age 80, of Clinton, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2022. Gene’s wishes were to be cremated with no formal services. A Celebration of Life will be given in his honor on August 6, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the Artesian Park in Clinton, Missouri. Then there will be a potluck in his honor directly afterwards.
On February 8, 1942 Eugene A. Kihn entered into this world in Kansas City, Missouri. The oldest of seven children was born to Clarence Kihn and Frances (Forbes) Kihn. Eighty years later on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at Research Medical Center, he was called home.
Gene was a lucky man. He met his first wife, Sharon Kihn (Tye) while at his parent’s cabin on the Grand River outside of Racket, Missouri. They were married on November 2, 1958. With this union they had three children Kim Kihn (Joyce) of Clinton, Pamela Kihn (Greg) of Tightwad, Jason Kihn of Clinton. He also has three grandchildren, Rachel Denny (Matt) of Lincoln, Missouri, Josh Kihn (Tonya) of Clinton, Missouri, and Logan Koch. Gene also has 5 great grandchildren resulting from this marriage.
After Sharon’s passing, he found love again and on June 4, 2003 he married Gloria Kihn. With this union he gained three bonus children, Steve Mackley (Darlene) of Warsaw, Missouri, Pam Mackley (Jack) of Clinton, Missouri and Cheryl Strokes of Warsaw, Missouri. He also gained seven bonus grandchildren, Mindy Mackley of Warsaw, Missouri, Josh Mackley of Warsaw, Missouri, Jeremy Brown (Sam) of Warsaw, Missouri, Christin Woods (Travis) of Clinton, Missouri, TJ Brown of Lincoln, Missouri, Derek Stokes (Megan) from Kansas, Dillion Stokes (Hailey) of Warsaw, Missouri. Gene had 19 bonus great grandchildren.
Gene worked hard all his life. He had many jobs in his eighty years. One of his first jobs was at a Rock Query in Cleveland, Missouri. From there he moved to Sugar Creek, Missouri and went to work at Milgram’s, in the Kansas City, Independence area, where he became the Produce Manager. After leaving Milgram’s he moved to Garden City, Missouri and went to work at Country Mart in Harrisonville, there he started as a Produce Manager and eventually became one of the Store Managers. After that he decided to move closer to some of his brothers and moved sown by Truman Lake. There he started working for Consumers in Clinton, Missouri as a Produce Manager until they closed down. After that he worked for a little while for Wood’s in Sedalia as a Produce Manager. He retired from there and spent the next few years with Sharon until she passed.
Soon after that he decided to start his next adventure in life. He married Gloria and went back to work, this time in a completely differently field. He started at Pitt’s Mobile Home in Clinton. There he set up and tore down trailers, did repair and warranty work on the trailers. He worked there for several years then decided to do independent contracting work and started remodeling mobile homes. Gene did this until 2020 when COVID struck. He decided to stay at home and tinker around the house and to help take care of Gloria. Gene loved boating, his horses and motorcycles.
Gene is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Frances Kihn, his first wife Sharon, brother Elmer Kihn, son Steve Mackley, great granddaughter Adi Jo, brother in-laws Howard Tye, Ronnie Hiserote, sister in-laws Nacy Kihn, Denise Kihn, and Beverly Covington.
