Obituary - Robert Gene White

Robert Gene White, 75, of Harrisonville, MO passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at Cass Regional Medical Center in Harrisonville, MO. 

Private graveside services will be held at Crescent Hill Cemetery in Adrian, MO, with a Celebration of Life being held at a later date.

Obituary - Bonnie V. Patton

Bonnie V. Patton flew into the arms of her heavenly loved ones on Aug. 24, 2022. This faith-filled, fun-loving, and family-cherishing woman entered this world on May 13, 1929, into the loving arms of her parents, Eli and Rosetta (Riley) Eilenstein.

Her family included four sisters--Betty, Dalpha, Doris, and Shirlene; and three brothers--Clyde, David, and Austin. This happy, musical family worked hard on their farm near Lebanon, MO, and played hard when they could. Cattle, crops, and chickens populated Bonnie's childhood years.

After graduating from high school and at the age of 17, she married her lifelong love,Gene Patton. To this union, a son, Gary, and a daughter, Donieta, were born. The Pattons lived in Sedalia, Grandview, and Kansas City before building and moving to their lovely, welcoming home south of Hume. Here, cattle, deer, birds, and beautiful flower beds captured their hearts. After moving to this area, Bonnie became a member of the West Liberty United Methodist Church and the UMW. Both Bonnie and Gene added their musical talents to the church's programs for years.

Survivors include one son and wife, Gary and Twyla; one son-in-law, Jerold Davis; two sisters, Doris Breedlove and Shirlene Coffman; three grandchildren, Todd, Greg and Angie; and four great grandchildren, Riley, Rachel, Ashley and Ryan. Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Gene; her daughter, Donieta Davis; her parents; her brothers, Clyde, David, and Austin; and her sisters, Betty and Delpha,

Funeral service will be 11 am Saturday, August 27, 2022 at the West Liberty United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Underwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 am to service time at the Church. Contributions are suggested to the Underwood Cemetery. Online condolences can be left at www.schneiderfunerals.com.

Stolen vehicle in St. Clair County

On August 10, 2022, Deputies responded to a call for service in reference to someone just stealing their vehicle. 

Victims stated they were sitting in their living room and saw headlights, looked outside and their vehicle was driving down the driveway. The deputies got the vehicle information and it was entered in as stolen.

The next day items from in the vehicle were located by a citizen who received our text caster of the stolen vehicle. More information was gained and Clinton PD was notified the vehicle might be in their area. Clinton PD Officers later located the vehicle, which ended in a pursuit and the apprehension of the suspect.

On August 10, 2022, Deputies responded to a call of a suspicious vehicle. Deputies arrived on scene and located a vehicle that was reported stolen out of Henry County. Deputies towed the vehicle and information was taken.

Stolen vehicle recovered, Fugitive apprehended

On Wednesday, 08/24/2022, early in the morning, Clinton Officers received a report of a stolen vehicle from Clinton Convenience Store at 115 North Second Street.

The vehicle had been left running and unattended. Surveillance footage captured the theft and provided a description of a suspect and a suspect vehicle. An Officer who recognized the suspect vehicle found it at a residence in the 600 Block of East Grandriver Street.

The suspect, later identified as James Lamont Gant, age 24, of Shawnee, Kansas, initially refused to exit the residence when other occupants complied with investigating officer's request. Gant was also reputedly in possession of a handgun. Gant finally exited the house after officers appeared to have left the scene and took up points of surveillance. After a short foot pursuit, Gant was detained.

Gant was arrested for an outstanding warrant for Robbery in the Second Degree issued thru a jurisdiction in Kansas as well as investigation of Vehicle Theft and Resisting Arrest. The stolen vehicle was recovered, as well as a handgun reported as stolen from Kansas City, MO.

Evidence was also recovered possibly related to a series of stealing from vehicles that occurred in the late evening/ early morning hours.
