One injured in Vernon County UTV accident

On November 1st around 8:15 a.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Vernon County along with Vernon County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a UTV accident on Rebel Road around 5 miles southwest of El Dorado Springs, Missouri.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2019 Polaris Ranger 900 driven by 21 year old Reuben E. Miller of Harwood, Missouri struck a tree and ejected a passenger who was identified as 39 year old Phillip R. Miller of El Dorado Springs, Missouri.

Philip R. Miller sustained moderate injures and was transported to Citizen's Memorial Hospital in Bolivar, Missouri for treatment.

Semi truck rollover in Cass County

 TRAFFIC ALERT - ROAD CLOSED

Happening now near Cleveland MO, - Groh Road south of Y Highway to East 253rd Street is closed while crews remove an overturned semi. No injuries reported.


Kansas man escapes serious injury in Bates County semi truck rollover accident

On November 1st around 8:15 a.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County along with Bates County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a semi truck rollover accident at a address of 10034 SW State Route A Highway in rural Bates County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the northbound 2015 Great Dane Tractor Trailer driven by 28 year old Jefferey J. Moses of Eudora, Kansas ran off the roadway and overturned.

Mr. Moses sustained minor injuries in this accident, however he refused medical treatment.

Arrest made after hit and run in Pittsburg Kansas

On October 28, 2022, officers with the Pittsburg Police Department, the Pittsburg Fire Department, and Crawford County EMS, were dispatched to the 1400 block of East 14th Street, in Pittsburg, in response to a report of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle. According to information gathered during the initial investigation, a pewter colored SUV was traveling westbound on 14th Street when it struck 43-year-old Melanie L Ishimura, of Pittsburg, and then fled the area without stopping to render aid.

Ms. Ishimura was initially transported to Ascension Via Christi Hospital by Crawford County EMS for injuries sustained when struck. Ms. Ishimura was later transferred to a Missouri hospital and is still listed in serious condition, but is expected to recover.

The Pittsburg Police Department reached out to the public for assistance with identifying the suspect vehicle, which was captured on a security camera in the area. Various tips and leads were generated from this public request.

On Monday afternoon, October 31, 2022, 46-year-old Brian Scott Walrod, of Cherokee, came to the police department with his attorney and turned himself in to the police. Walrod was placed under arrest for failure to stop at an accident resulting in great bodily injury. He was transported to the Crawford County Jail and police are requesting he be held without bond until such time he appears before the Court.
