On February 25th around 4:30 p.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Polk County along with Polk County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a vehicle submerged in water at the Highpoint boat ramp access three miles northwest of Aldrich.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when a 2000 Ford F-150 driven by 40-year-old Caleb Mantonya of Stockton rolled backward into the lake and went into the water.

Strong to severe storms possible tonight
Strong to potentially severe storms are possible this evening and overnight, mainly along and south of I-70. While a tornado or two can’t be ruled out, the most likely hazard will be from damaging winds as a line of storms moves from west to east across the area.
In addition to the damaging wind threat associated with a line of storms, non-thunderstorm winds will gust as high as 50 mph through Monday morning in eastern KS and western MO and Monday afternoon in central and eastern MO.
This system will also bring locally heavy rainfall to far northeastern KS and northwestern MO and localized flooding is possible in those areas.
