Obituary - Lorinda May Lukinbill

Lorinda May Lukenbill departed this life on Sunday, March 5, 2023. Lorinda was born in St. Joseph, MO on March 16, 1965 to Roger & Eunice Lukenbill.

She moved to Nevada, MO during her childhood and graduated from Nevada High School. Lorinda had one daughter, Lorina Byergo, who was her pride and joy and best friend. Lorina blessed Lorinda with her reason for living, giving her two grandsons, Jett & Kolt Byergo.

She enjoyed spoiling them any chance she got. She made several memories with them going to the zoo, carnivals, Chuck E Cheese, pumpkin patches and many other outings. She was always there to join the fun.

She loved the outdoors and took pride in making her yard look gorgeous. She believed push mowing was the only way. She cleaned and painted continuously, even when things were already clean. She enjoyed shopping, music and the dice game “Farkle”. She collected elephants, giraffes and cats and took pride in decorating her home inside and out. She loved her cats and never left any cat astray feeding the entire neighborhood along with the birds and squirrels.

She had a great love for Dr. Pepper, but they had to be fountain drinks. She wouldn’t drink it any other way. In her younger days she spent many days laying in the sun working on her tan.

Lorinda was a giver with a heart of gold. She always put others needs first. She loved spending time with her family and looked forward to family gatherings. Holidays were her favorite. Lorinda was proud to be a 10 year survivor from breast cancer. The last couple years she struggled with chronic illnesses that kept her from enjoying many of the things she loved to do. She left this heavenly earth in peace and is no longer in pain. She was reunited with her beloved dog, Precious.

Survivors include her daughter, Lorina Byergo (Justin), Nevada; two grandsons, Jett, and Kolt; mother, Eunice, Nevada; three sisters, Janet DeSpain, Christina Lukenbill, and Brenda Lukenbill, all of Nevada; two brothers, Ed Lukenbill (Marcella), and Shawn Lukenbill, both of Nevada; numerous nieces and nephews including, Brandy and Travis Duncan of Nevada. She was preceded in death by her father, Roger Lukenbill, Sr.; two brothers, Roger Allen Lukenbill, Jr., and Doug Lukenbill; a niece, Sierra Lukenbill; and a nephew, Brandon Lukenbill.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Pastor Roger Beach officiating. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home.
