Obituary - Donald Lloyd Cole

Donald Lloyd Cole, 92, of Harrisonville, MO passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at Crown Care Center in Harrisonville, MO. Memorial services are still pending. Memorial contributions may be made to Harrisonville First Baptist Church or Bright Futures Harrisonville and may be left in care of the funeral home.

Donald was born July 18, 1930 to Russell Lloyd and Vera Lorraine (Clum) Cole in Harrisonville, MO. He graduated from Harrisonville High School with the class of 1948. After high school, Donald enlisted with the United States Air Force. Upon his discharge, he met the love of his life, Trulla Gladman, and they were married on November 12, 1955 in Harrisonville, MO. Donald attended Rankin Technical College, graduating in 1959. After beginning his career at W.H. Clum and Son with his grandfather and uncle, he then went to work for Local #533 as a pipe fitter in Kansas City, MO. Donald retired in 1992, and received his 50-year recognition in the spring of 2022.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Harrisonville. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with his family at the Lake of the Ozarks. After retirement, Donald enjoyed traveling the world with Trulla. His children and grandchildren loved hearing his stories and seeing photographs from their adventures. He will be remembered for always being proud of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and forever missed by those who knew him.

Donald is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Grant Cole; and his sister, Carolyn Allen. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Trulla Cole, of the home; his daughters: Julie Pieschl of Minneapolis, KS; and Cynthia Cole of Lehi, UT; his daughter-in-law, Shelley Jansen of Harrisonville, MO; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Obituary - Thelma “Ladene” Bley

Thelma “Ladene” Bley, 84, formerly of Moundville, MO passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at Wildwood Senior Living in Joplin. Ladene was born December 12-1938 in Nevada, MO to Jay Lynn and Thelma Marie (Burch) Klontz. 

She married Clyde Allen Bley on January 25, 1956 in Ft. Scott, KS and he preceded her in death. Ladene graduated high school and was a homemaker.

Ladene is survived by three children: Brenda Young (Clifford) Bentonville, AR, Allen Bley (Janet), Moundville, MO, and Doug Bley (Teri), Moundville, MO; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Leonard Klontz (Margie). In addition to her husband Clyde Bley, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Ilene Cole, Irene Luther, and Helen Kutina.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 20, 2023 at Memory Gardens Cemetery (South Main and Indian Road) south of Ft. Scott, KS with Pastor Adam Gordon officiating.

Vacant house fire this morning in Nevada

On March 17th around 6:42 a.m. the Nevada Fire Department along with mutual aide of the Milo, Compton Junction, Walker and Deerfield Fire Departments all assisted in a vacant house fire at 402 S. Pine Street in Nevada.

Fire crews did interior search nothing found. Due to additions to home took awhile to get under control.

Obituary - Pearl Alice (Lindenman) Wilson

Funeral services for Pearl Alice Wilson will be held Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Hill and Son Funeral Home in Appleton City, Missouri. The visitation will precede the service from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.

Officiants at the service will be: Pastors Ron Dunlap, Jeff Dunlap and Glen Edmondson. Interment will follow the service in Appleton City Cemetery, Appleton City, Missouri. Memorials are suggested to Happy Hill Church of God or Good Shepherd Hospice and may be left at the funeral home.

Pearl Alice (Lindenman) Wilson, age 99 of rural Butler, Missouri, died Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at her home. She was born February 17, 1924 at the Lindenman home, to Herman and Anna Maria (Bellach) Lindenman, the youngest of 13 children.

She graduated with the 1942 class of Rockville High School as co-valedictorian. The summer after graduation, she attended Warrensburg Teacher’s College and after passing the teacher’s exam, taught at Prairie City School in the fall. She also taught at Bever School where two of her students introduced her to Kenneth Wilson who would become her husband. She was devoted to the Lord, her church, and her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, six sisters, her husband Kenneth Wilson, grandson Brian Tillery and great-granddaughter Dylan Schmidt.

Pearl is survived by her four children: Delbert (Patti) Wilson of Rich Hill, Missouri, Linda (Glen) Edmondson of Van Buren, Arkansas, Delmer (Nancy) Wilson of Rockville, Missouri and Brenda (Howard) Tillery of Butler, Missouri; Seven grandchildren: Michelle (James) Schmidt, Melissa (Jeff) Harrington, Amanda (Russell) Fugitt, Jenny (Roger) Dade, Megan (Lindsey) Cannon, Tyler Wilson and Seth (Mallory) Wilson. 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Traffic Alert: One vehicle rollover accident in the northbound lanes of I-49

Traffic Alert:

Several emergency personnel are on scene of a one vehicle rollover accident in the northbound lanes of I-49 near mile marker 128.6 near Butler.

The car is said to be on its side and two people sustained minor injuries. Mid America Live News will update at a later time.
