Colorado man arrested in Bates County

On March 25th around 2:19 a.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County arrested 51 year old Jason P. Bilello of Littleton, Colorado.

Mr. Bilello was arrested for 1.) Driving While Intoxicated 2.) Speeding 3.) Fail to drive in the right lane.

Jason P. Bilello was booked into the Bates County Jail in Butler and later cited with tickets and released.

Obituary - Francis Poe

Francis Poe, age 79, of Warsaw, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at the Vansant-Mills Funeral Home in Clinton, Missouri with visitation from 10:00-11:00 AM prior to the service. Burial to follow in the Bethel Campground Cemetery in Edwards, Missouri.

Francis Ann Poe was born on January 13, 1944 in Attalla, Alabama. On March 1, 1960 she married Floyd H. Poe and they began their lives together in Blairstown, Missouri. They later ended their journey in Edwards, Missouri. To this union 5 children were born, Lois Gallo of Gulfport, Mississippi, Floyd Poe and wife Tammy of Warsaw, Missouri, Bruce Poe and partner James Eden of Gulfport, Mississippi, Edger Gene Poe, and Linda Serraro and husband Matt of Gautier, Mississippi.

She was preceded in death by one son Edger, her husband Floyd, her mother, father and grandparents.

Survivors include her 4 children, 12 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, one sister Joan Norman of Oneonta, Alabama, and one brother Gary Page and wife Linda of Clinton, Missouri, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and her best friend of 40 years Sonja Clark of International Falls, Minnesota.

Francis enjoyed fishing, mowing her yard, spending time with family and shopping. She was known to randomly show up at her granddaughter Samantha’s home and take her great grandson Syrys home for a weekend.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home in Clinton, Missouri.

Giving Fore Living Committee is hosting its annual Burgers and Baseball or Blue and Green Day game April 27th

Interact and the Giving Fore Living Committee are hosting our annual Burgers and Baseball or Blue and Green Day game at the ballpark.

The event will take place on Thursday, April 27, at the Butler Baseball/Softball Complex at 4:30 PM. The baseball and softball teams host the Hume Hornets. We will be serving cheeseburgers/hamburgers, chips and a cookie for $10.

There will also be a concession stand open at both fields that day. We will also be selling blue and green t-shirts; the order form along with the t-shirt design is attached. The order form is due Thursday, April 13, 2023.


Iowa woman injured in St. Clair County crash

On March 23rd around 10:12 p.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol in St. Clair County along with St. Clair County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a one vehicle accident on Missouri 13 Highway at Collins.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the northbound 2021 Nissan Versa driven by 79 year old Patricia A. LeClair of Sioux City, Iowa ran off the roadway and struck a parked 2017 Ford Fusion.

Patricia A. LeClair sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar for treatment.

Obituary - Eyvonna Kaye Fuller

Eyvonna Kaye (Vinson) Fuller, age 76, of Cleveland, MO, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Belton Regional Medical Center in Belton, MO. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday April 15, 2023 from 11am-3pm at Cleveland Christian Church.

She went by Kaye to friends and family. Kaye was born May 11, 1946, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri to Maxine Hazel Austin and Harold Enoch Vinson. She attended Broseley, Missouri grade school and high school.

She graduated from Ruskin High in Kansas City, Missouri in 1964. Kaye married Leland Fuller on Jan 18, 1969. Kaye worked at BMA Insurance for 20 years. She was an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and NASCAR.

As an excellent writer who cared about civil responsibilities, she wrote unifying letters to Congress. In her gentle, yet convincing way, she reminded them of their duties and often achieved impressive results with her powerful words.

Kaye taught the principles of hard work, integrity, loyalty, and leadership, in how she lived and cared for her community.

She was the matriarch to her immediate and extended family, but a mother figure to many.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Maxine Vinson; her husband, Leland Fuller; her brother, John Randall Vinson (Randy); granddaughter, Melanie Edmundson; and grandson, Dalton Fuller.

She is survived by her 2 brothers, Harold Ray Vinson and Anthony Craig Vinson (Janice); and her 4 children, Deanna Maxine Edmundson (Guy), Traci LeAnne Fuller (Chad), Shannon Lynn Chandler (Steve), and Jeremy Wayne Fuller. Kaye also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 2 nieces, 4 nephews, and many great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. Her family gives gratitude to God for the gift of her time on Earth, and to Kaye for the love she shared.

During our remaining time, we hold her in our hearts until we may hold her again in heaven.

Rose Reitz age 70 of Harrisonville, Missouri departed this life Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Crown Care Center, Harrisonville, Missouri surrounded by love and family.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:00 p.m Monday, April 3, 2023 at Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with inurnment at Dayton Cemetery, Garden City, Missouri. Family will receive friends 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 3, 2023 at the funeral Home. I

Butler man arrested after traffic stop

On March 24th around 10:41 p.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County arrested 29 year old Steven W. Cox of Butler, Missouri.

Mr. Cox was arrested for 1.) Felony Possession of a controlled substance 2.) Failure to signal 3.) Unlawful use of drug parphernalia.

Steven W. Cox was booked into the Bates County Jail in Butler and he was later cited with tickets and released.
