Public service announcement from the Ballard General Store & Diner

We've been getting a lot of messages about us no longer being open. We ARE open. However, unfortunately our last month will be June.

We're just not making enough to cover the restaurant and our home. We've really enjoyed it while it lasted and we appreciate and love everyone that supported us and those that never gave up on us.

We learned who are real friends were. We want to thank Jordan Beard and Drew Fleener for always being there for us when things got tough. We love you guys and Know you're gonna go far! You're a good kid with a good

We also want to thank Dalton and Jayme McElwain for supplying us with awesome pork and beef! We got lots of compliments We will continue to do chicken on Sundays until then and I will do a taco night buffet before we go.

Thank you again!! We're gonna miss all of you... Even the grumpy ones.

From Bates County Coroner Greg Mullinax

In each of the Coroner's response vehicles is an American burial flag.

Even in the midst of unanticipated death or tragedy, we can show respect.

If we learn the decedent is a Veteran, and it's necessary for us to transport the decedent for an examination, we cover the decedent's remains with a flag during removal and transport.

Of course, this will likely be done again at the decedent's funeral; as it should. But it's one small way we can show our respect, and our thanks.

We don't know them all. But we owe them all.
Greg Mullinax
