Congratulations to Ronald and Janice Bolser - Rich Hill Ready Set Grow Yard of the Month for June .

During the past year the RH Garden Club has transitioned into a organization with a new name -Ready Set Grow - same guidelines as previously, with new visions of reviving our community one project at a time!!!!

The Bolser’s have had a beautiful yard for years and we felt it was time to recognize their efforts!!!


Hot and dry conditions are expected today

Hot and dry conditions are expected today, but scattered showers and thunderstorms return to the forecast tomorrow afternoon! A few of these storms could produce gusty winds and small hail.


Two vehicle accident in Vernon County

On Monday June 5th around 1:20 p.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol along with Vernon County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident on US 54 Highway around one mile west of Deerfield.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when a southbound 2011 Ford F-350 driven by a 16 year old male from Deerfield pulled into the path of a 2014 Toyota Corolla driven by 37 year old Melyssa Cunningham of Fort Scott, Kansas.

Cunningham and her passenger, 69 year old Holly Boone of Fort Scott, were taken by ambulance to Nevada Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.

Trusten Derry was diagnosed with Nephrotic syndrome at 2 years old. He is currently 13 and on the donor transplant list at Children's mercy for a kidney.

Ballard-Johnstown Alumni Reunion King and Queen Crowned

Our 99th Ballard-Johnstown Alumni Reunion was held over the weekend. Thank you to all who attended and to those who helped to make this a success. 

Thank you to the Ballard Junior Class for a delicious meal, as well. I think it’s safe to say everyone had a great time.

Traffic Alert: Crash on I-49 near Harrisonville

There has been a crash in the median of I-49, just south of the Missouri 291 bridge. The outside lanes, north and southbound, will be temporarily shut down. 

This is to allow the tow truck personnel to work. As soon as they are finished, those two lanes will be reopened.

The inside lanes, both north and southbound, will remain open. Due to one lane each direction being closed, please be prepared for delays. If you can avoid the area, please do so.
