Structure fire in Fort Scott Kansas

Fire crews were dispatched to a reported structure fire on the west side of town shortly after 12pm. FSFD arrived on scene and found heavy smoke emitting from the structure.

Crews made an aggressive offensive fire attack through the rear entrance and found the kitchen to be fully involved. With quick extinguishment and overhaul crews safely and effectively put the fire out before it could spread throughout the entire home.

The home did suffer major smoke damage. No injuries were reported. Crews were able to save the homeowners dog from the fire.
Great job by all those involved.

Thank you FSPD and Bourbon county ems for your assistance.
