2023 Financial Professional of the Year

We would like to give a huge shoutout to the 2023 Financial Professional of the Year Principal Financial Group Brad Stephens of Butler. Well deserved honor for such a wonderful person.

As Duane Bartlett, Kansas/Missouri RMD said, “In my 30 years in the industry, I’ve never met a more humble and fun-loving #1 producer. He’s a team player and a quality human, and he has the biggest heart.

He just wants to do the best job for his clients, his team, his community, and his family. They left “quit” out of Brad Stephens.”

We are so proud of you, Brad!

Baby its cold outside

Strong northwest winds are bringing arctic air into the region creating subzero wind chills. We are forecasting wind chills to rise back above zero next Wednesday <that is not a typo>. Seriously, bundle up and dress in layers if you have to go out.

A friendly reminder..

From the Office of the Fire Chief/ Emergency Management

Don't forget to let your water drip next few days, and check your furnace filters your heating equipment will be working on overtime the next few days and they need all the return air they can get. Also good time to check your smoke detectors again to.

Also bring in your pets or have a warm place to put them. And do-not plug in your electric space heaters into a power strip or extension cord they must plug into an outlet directly and don't put anything in front of them.

Historic night for Butler Senior Carter Trumbore

The Bears Den was buzzing as the Butler Bears looked to get back on track after a couple of cold outings coming off of Christmas break. The Holden Eagles made the trip to the Bears Den with a record of 1-11 to square off against the 7-4 Bears.

The Bears nearly shut-out the Eagles in the first quarter, outscoring them 18-4 after one. The Bears kept their foot on the accelerator, with stout defense leading to easy offense. Butler scored 26 points on 16 Eagles turnovers. The Bears shot lights out for the night, hitting 57 percent of the their field goals, 50 percent from deep, and 88 percent from the line.

The Bears defense, coupled with their high percentage shooting, led to a blow-out victory with a final of 75-32.

The story of the night was Senior Carter Trumbore, who broke not one, but TWO of the Butler career records. Trumbore came into tonight with 222 career steals, the all-time record was held by Kaleb Kauffman with 225. Trumbore ended the night with 5 steals, surpassing Kauffman and having 227, and counting.

The all-time Butler High School career points record was held by Zach Burch with 1,866. Coming into the night Trumbore had 1,833 on his career, needing 33 points to tie the record and 34 to break it. Early in the 4th quarter Trumbore hit a 3 that propelled him to 36 points on the night, and solidified his place in the Butler High School record books.

Trumbore led all scoring on the night with 36 points, 5 steals, 5 rebounds and he was perfect from the free throw line, going 8-8. Jake Chandler for the Bears tallied 12 points with 4 assists and 3 rebounds. Brandon Hammet was the 3rd Bear in double figures with 10 points of his own to go along with 6 boards.
