Butler Varsity Bears Wrestling Team shines at Fredonia Kansas Tournament

The Butler Varsity boys and girls wrestling team traveled to Fredonia, Kansas to compete in a tournament today January 27th. The Bears took We took 4th out of 16 teams with 4 wrestlers. 

We were missing a few that would have propelled us to a top three finish. They will be back soon enough.

Individual Results:
Girls
Airyanna Nuzum: 0-2.
Ashlynn Turner: 0-2.

Boys
138: Damian Alkire--2nd Place.
150: Kellen Long--Champion.
175: Isaac Rodriguez--Champion.
190: Zayne Nuzum--4th Place.

Next up is the Belton Girls Tournament and the Lathrop Boys Tournament on Saturday, Feb 3rd. Way to represent today team! 




















How about those Hume Lady Hornets Basketball Team!

History was made tonight at the 94th Annual Archie High School Girls Basketball Tournament. For the first time ever the Hume Lady Hornets finish in first place.

Hume the 3 seed defeated the 1 seed Lone Jack Mules by a final score of 47-41 tonight to get the win. Way to go Lady Hornets! Congratulations on your win.

Looking for information on robbery suspects. If you can identify the suspects or know information about the crime that occurred at Wes' Recycling in Prescott Kansas call the Linn County Sheriff's Office.

Butler Bears finish 2nd in 99th Annual Clinton Boys Basketball Tournament

The Butler Bears Varsity Basketball Team defeated the Clinton Cardinals tonight 58-44 to win 2nd place in the 99th Annual Clinton Boys Basketball Tournament.

Butler trailed this game 13-3 at the end of the first quarter but finally woke up and dominated most of the rest of the game pulling away at the end.

The bears was led in scoring by Senior Carter Trumbore who had 31 points on the night. Congratulation to Seniors Dylan Davidson and Carter Trumbore for being named to the all tournament team. 

Butler will now move on to host the Sherwood Marksmen on January 30th before court warming against Leeton on February 2nd. 





Rich Hill Tigers finish 3rd in Archie Boys Basketball Tournament

We would like to congratulate the Rich Hill Tigers Varsity Boys Basketball team on your 3rd place finish in the Archie tournament!

Special shout out to Junior Dillon Coonce who earned all tournament team honors.

Today your local Rich Hill firefighters gathered at the station to recognize former firefighter Boots Hoover.

Boots served the community for 19 years! From 1968 to 1987. We will be posting more pictures later on today.

Another cloudy and foggy stretch

Our cloudy and foggy stretch continues into Sunday. Dense fog is possible late tonight across portions of northwestern Missouri and far northeastern Kansas. Below freezing temperatures will develop overnight leading to some refreezing of untreated roads and elevated surfaces.



Traffic Alert in Cass County

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office is currently assisting the Missouri State Highway Patrol with a motor vehicle accident on 7 Highway at 227th, between Harrisonville and Pleasant Hill. Both roads are closed, both directions, until further notice.
