94th Annual Archie Basketball Tournament was a success!

The 94th Annual Archie Tournament was a success! Thank you to all of the teams and fans who made it out to the tournament! The Drexel Bobcats won the Bob Bure Sportsmanship Award.

The following girls were selected for the All-Tournament Team: Miley Ward, Brecklen Morrison, Brileigh Rogers, Lily Tarwater, Maysi Miller and Kaitlyn Newport. 

The following boys were selected for the All-Tournament Team: Colin Kramer, Cole Hamilton, Michel Moore, Mason Mitchell, Dillon Coonce and Briar McIntire. Congratulations to these athletes!

We would also like to congratulate Brecklen Morrison for scoring her 1,500th career point at the Archie Tournament!





Bar closing in Amsterdam

This is a tough one but all good things must come to an end ! Thursday I was informed that I will be loosing my lease at the bar ! We have served Amsterdam well I believe a lot of Good friends and great times! We have had celebrated life moments Birthdays. Weddings , Deaths St Patty parade Jubilee ect. 

Many Benefit bike runs and memory runs ! Which we were so happy to be part of. I want to thank everyone for letting us be part of these experiences.

We have helped those in need many times when they are on the hard side of life. With a hand up and wish nothing but the best of life for all!

I have heard so many times how our little business makes everyone feel like belong. Best food in town ! And that is what we are very proud of. Friendly good people Staff is fun. So very proud of our girls. Rachel Kelly and Tracie !!! Thank you !!!Ones that have moved on.

Yodie always there in a pinch. I appreciate you !! Tristia. Nikki, Destiny. Maci Sammi. Alyssa Becky Pat and myself everything everyone one of you contributed to Ms Kim s !! You are Assome !! Thank you Thank You !!!

Oh I can’t forget to add Jeremy for stepping in when we were so busting at the seams in the kitchen. Ace for being our on sight plumber! lol

Not sure what the future will bring! But we will continue to be open tell the first week in March. That is when we have to turn the building back over to Randy. So he can enjoy it for his personal. Use. Thanks for the time you did let the community come together !

As they say whenever one door closes there is another one waiting for you to open ! And if you know me that’s what’s on my mind. Any ideas out there let me know lol !!!

We had a good time last night with the Shot in the dark band and on Feb 10th it'll be Jake and the freight trains !! This is such a good band please show up and enjoy !!

Several injured, 9 year old female killed in Cass County crash

On Saturday January 27th around 2:40 p.m. the Missouri State Highway State Highway Patrol in Cass County along with Cass County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident on Missouri 7 Highway at 227th Road in rural Cass County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the eastbound 2021 Kia Soul driven by a 50 year old Michelle F. Baker from Bates City, MO failed to stop at a stop sign and struck the southbound 2019 Honda Pilot driven by a 38 year old Jamie R. Mensing from Weston, MO. The Honda Pilot then overturned twice before coming to rest on the right side of the roadway.

A 9 year old female juvenile of Raytown, MO was pronounced dead at Cass Regional Medical Center at approximately 3:45 p.m. A second 14 year old female juvenile of Weston, MO sustained serious injuries and was transported to Belton Regional Medical Center. 

A third 6 year old male juvenile of Raytown, MO sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, MO. A fourth 9 year old male juvenile of Raytown, MO also sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, MO. 

Jamie R. Mensing sustained serious injuries and was transported Belton Regional Medical Center. A 46 year old male Kevin H. Mensing of Weston, MO sustained moderate injuries and was also transported to Belton Regional Medical Center. 

Michelle F. Baker sustained serious injuries and was transported to Belton Religion Medical Center. A 62 year old male Mark E. Pinkerton of Kingsville, MO sustained serious injuries and was also transported to Belton Regional Medical Center.

This is Troop A of the Missouri State Highway Patrol's 4th fatality of the year 2024. Next of kin notified.

Harrisonville Wildcats champions of the 94th Annual Archie Boys Basketball Tournament

We would like to congratulate the Harrisonville Wildcats Varsity Basketball Team on winning the 94th Annual Archie Boys Basketball Tournament tonight.

Harrisonville got the win in the championship game over the Adrian Blackhawks 68-53. Way to go Wildcats! Congrats to Mason Mitchell and Michael Moore who was named to the all tournament team! 
 

Belton man seriously injured in Cass County rollover accident

On January 27th around 6:30 a.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County along with Cass County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a one vehicle rollover accident at Missouri 58 Highway and E. 195th Street in rural Cass County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2012 Chevrolet driven by a 22 year old Matthew M. Ash of Belton, MO traveled off of the roadway, struck a culvert, and overturned.

Mr. Ash sustained serious injury and was transported to Research Hospital in Kansas City, MO for treatment.

Many thoughts and prayers

The Belton Fire Department has a heavy heart tonight. Chief Kurt Denkler died tonight. 

Chief Denkler was a long term servant of the community and Belton Fire Department and the first full time fire chief. There are many people who new him well. 

He was a great innovator for the fire service and a man who would help anyone in need. Our hearts and prayers are with the Denkler family tonight

Adrian falls to Harrisonville in the finals of the 94th Annual Archie Boys Basketball Tournament

The Adrian Boys Basketball Team lost in the Championship of the 94th Annual Archie Boys Basketball Tournament to the Harrisonville Wildcats 68-53.

Adrian was down big most the night as the wildcats shot the lights out from 3 points land. The leading scorer on the night for the Blackhawks Junior Mason Rusow who had 23 points. 

We would like to congratulate the Archie All Tournament team from Adrian Cole Hamilton and Colin Kramer!
