The Adrian R-III School Board Tuesday night swore in new member Nicole Thurman and 2 incumbents, George Bruto and Gerold Stephens

Bates County Sheriff's Office seeking public assistance

On 4/18/24 at approximately 6pm, a Deputy attempted to make a traffic stop on a 4 wheeler in the area of County Road 1001 and AA Highway. The four wheeler and its two occupants fled from the Deputy and eventually entered some fields in an attempt to get away. Additional Deputies responded to the area along with Adrian PD and the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The two occupants fled from the 4 wheeler after it became stuck in a low water crossing. While searching the area Deputies found the outer clothing and helmets that the occupants wore during the chase.

While searching for the subjects, an inventory search of the abandoned 4 wheeler revealed some very interesting information for the Deputies. Credit cards in the female’s name were located in the bag. After identifying the female a social media search for known associates revealed her boyfriend’s name. Both have been identified as being passengers of the 4 wheeler as recently as the day before. The boyfriend also altered the VIN number on the 4 wheeler and in his moment of geniusness engraved his name in the place of the VIN.

It is no surprise that both suspects have felony warrants for their arrest. (Before you come in and make a false report and try to convince us your most likely stolen 4 wheeler was stolen from you, and you have no idea who would have been on the 4 wheeler during the chase. Ask yourself, did you walk by any deer hunter’s game cameras?????)

So if you know the whereabouts of these two, they at the very least have a date pending with the courts system.

Taylor Nichole Reynolds has an active warrant for possession of a controlled substance with a bond of $10,000 cash or surety

Jerrald J Trout has an active warrant for receiving stolen property with a $10,500 cash or surety bond.

Additional charges are being filed with the prosecutor. This is the second time this 4 wheeler has ran from a deputy.

Butler High School Kaleidoscope rocked the crowd tonight

Butler High School Kaleidoscope rocked the crowd tonight..

The crowd packed its way into the Butler High School Auditorium this evening for the annual Butler High School Kaleidoscope music event

The Butler Music Department under the direction of Allison Oates had several great performances tonight by the high school pop chorus, mixed chorus and the junior high honor choir.

Several solo performances dazzled the crowd and kept them clapping along to the beat all night. We would like give a special shout out to the seniors who performed and thank you everyone who came out and supported these great kids.
