Martha Lucille McCarthy, age 89 of Butler, Missouri died Friday, May 31, 2024 at the Butler Center. She was born July 27, 1934 to Joseph Charles and Martha Elizabeth Brown Seals in Kansas City, Kansas.
Lucille is survived by two daughters, Carol Henry and husband Jim of Butler, Missouri and Mary Gibson and husband Mike of Moberly, Missouri; four grandchildren, Julie Lines (Jason), Jamie Young (Tim), Amanda and Josse; 12 great-grandchildren, Madison, Morgan, Emmalie, Brock, TJ, Carson, Dalton, David, Azalea, Atticus, Shelby and Haylee; and two great-great-grandchildren, Fynn and Sawyer. She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Randy Appleberry; and two brothers, Donald and Melvin Seals.

Garden City man injured in Cass County rollover accident
On Monday June 3rd around 10:00 p.m. the Missouri the Missouri State Highway Patrol along with the Cass County Sheriff's Department responded to a one vehicle rollover accident at East 315th and Susque Hanna Road in rural Cass County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occured when the westbound 2011 Dodge driven by 44 year old Nicolas C. Allen from Garden City, MO failed to stop at a stop sign ran off the roadway and overturned.
Mr Allen sustained moderate injuries, and was he was transported by ambulance to St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City for treatment.

Obituary - Kathlynn "Katie" Elizabeth Elliott
Kathlynn "Katie" Elizabeth Elliott, 59, of Harrisonville, Missouri, peacefully departed this life on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at KC Hospice House in Kansas City, MO. Memorial services will be held at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at 5:30 PM. Prior to the service, a visitation will take place at 4:00 PM, providing an opportunity for family and friends to pay their respects. Memorial contributions are suggested to Hope Haven in Harrisonville, MO.
Katie was born on December 29, 1964, in Hammond, IN, to James Robert and Lila Jane (Gilfillan) Trembczynski. She was a graduate of Olathe North High School. Katie pursued a career in office management, ultimately becoming an indispensable office manager for a construction company. Katie married Brian Elliott on May 22, 1993, and to this union they had a daughter, Morgan.
An active member of the First Baptist Church of Raymore, Katie found solace in her faith and community. She had a zest for life, finding joy in cooking delicious meals, bird watching, gardening, and tending to her blooming flowers. She enjoyed reading, watching movies, and was a lover of animals. Katie also loved time spent at the lake house with her family and all the activities that came with it. Her infectious personality will be greatly missed by those who knew her.
Katie was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Brian Elliott; her daughter, Morgan Elliott; her siblings: Sue Kalwei, Jim (Tasha) Kipper, Ann Krull, and Jenny Bustamonte; as well as, many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Peggy Lorene Clark, age 86, of Belton, Missouri passed away on Friday, May 31, 2024 at Belton Regional Medical Center.

Peggy was born in Kingman, Arizona to Seymour and Lorene Spencer on November 30, 1937. Peggy graduated from Picher High School and briefly continued her education. For many years she worked as an Executive Secretary for Tobin Construction Co. where after fifteen years she retired. Throughout her life, Peggy volunteered much of her time. She was trustee and church pianist at the Stone Tabernacle Church in Joplin, Missouri, volunteered at Life Care Center in Osawatomie, Kansas, was a member of the Cadmus Grange, and most recently attended services at the Gospel Tabernacle Church in Belton.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Seymour and Lorene Spencer; and loving husband, Earl Clark.
She is survived by her sister Barbara Oegerle, nieces Denice Carpenter and Barbaralorene Coleman, foster aunt Emma Jean Rains, Cousin Virgil Elliott and wife Melia, and numerous other beloved cousins and friends.

Obituary - Brenda Lee Borders
Brenda Lee (Trude) Borders, 71, Nevada, MO went to be with her Savior on Monday, June 3, 2024. She was born May 16, 1953 in Nevada to Robert Lee and Mary JoAnn (Newman) Trude.
Brenda grew up in Nevada and graduated from Nevada High School Class of ’71. Following high school, she began a career in the medical field. Her most important decision of her life is when she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ into her heart during the summer of 1962.

She met her future husband Larry Borders in January 1975, and they married on August 9, 1975 at Stony Point Baptist Church (Kansas City, KS). They spent their lives together in Kansas City, KS and Bashor, KS for 45 years before retiring to her hometown of Nevada, MO four years ago. They had three children together, five grandchildren and a great granddaughter on the way.
Brenda worked as a lab technician for 43 years at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, KS. She has been a member of Calvary Baptist Church (Nevada, MO) and Stony Point Baptist Church all her adult life. She loved being a mother and grandmother most of all. She also enjoyed cooking, caring for others, crafts, and vacations with her family.
Brenda was fortunate to retire with her husband to Nevada, MO and spend her last four years with her best friend, Aletta and her husband Jim Borders, Larry’s cousin.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Borders (48 years) of the home; three children, Rendi Cox (Josh), Gardner, KS, Larry Borders, Jr. (Sarah), Tonganoxie, KS, and Rebecca Borders, Nevada, MO; five grandchildren, Kaylee Kelvington (Isaac), Huntsville, AL, Alyssa Cox, Jaycee Cox, Gardner, KS, Shari Jo Borders, and Jayme Borders, Tonganoxie, KS; as well as two sisters, Debra Suter, Chicago, IL, and Donna Payne, Nevada, MO; several brothers and sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews, and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents Bob and JoAnn Trude; and two siblings, Terry Trude and Becky Rider.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada, MO with Pastor Terry Mosher officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Friday evening at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park in Nevada.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Stony Point Baptist Church in Kansas City, KS would be very much appreciated.
