5 years of service to the city of Harrisonville

During Monday’s City of Harrisonville Board of Aldermen meeting, Mayor Zaring presented David Carpenter with his 5-year service award!

Carpenter currently serves as the Chief Operator for the City’s Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Thank you David for your years of dedicated service and for the steady leadership you bring to the City!

Obituary - Steven Albin

Steven Albin, age 67, of Clinton, Missouri passed away on June 29, 2024 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. 

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 5, 2024 at the Vansant-Mills Funeral Home in Clinton, Missouri with visitation from 1:00-2:00 PM prior to the service. 

Burial to follow in the Parks Chapel Cemetery in Clinton, Missouri. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital and may be left in care of the funeral home.

Steve was born November 10, 1956 in Kansas City, Missouri to Sterling “Frank" Albin and Betty Peek Albin. Steve spent his early years living with his grandparents William and Dorothy Albin in Clinton, Missouri.

Steve's school years were spent with his father Frank and Stepmother Susan Albin in Lee’s Summit Missouri. Steve attended Lee’s Summit Schools. Steve worked in Kansas City several years before moving to Clinton Missouri where he worked for Rival Manufacturing in Clinton.

Steve loved the outdoors, he was always finding arrowheads and interesting rocks. He had a kind heart and was always willing to give to others.

Steve was preceded in death by his father Frank Albin, mother Betty, and a sister Debra.

Survivors include his stepmother Susan Albin, Clinton, Missouri, his brother John (Kim) Albin, Big Cabin, Oklahoma, stepdaughters Wendy and Billie and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home in Clinton, Missouri.

Ramp closures scheduled for NB/SB I-49 and MO 291 in Cass County, evening and overnight, July 8-13

Crews will make updates to the pavement marking at the intersection of I-49 and MO 291 in City of Harrisonville, MO requiring intermittent closures of the NB/SB I-49 exit ramps to MO 291, evening and overnight, from approximately 7 p.m. until 6 a.m., July 8-13. During the work, exit ramps in only one direction will be closed at a time.


Obituary - Emmett Howard Heiserman

Emmett Howard Heiserman, age 10 years, 2 months and 10 days, was born on April 22, 2014, to Jeremiah Heiserman and Tammy Sargent. He departed this life on July 2, 2024, surrounded by his family.

Emmett was a happy little boy – full of mischief and energy. He always had a wink and a hug for everyone. He loved riding horses with his mom and enjoyed participating in youth rodeo.

Emmett had a passion for farming activities and riding in and driving the gator. Along with this, some of his favorite times were hunting and fishing with his dad. He was cherished by his family and this community.

Emmett leaves behind his mom, dad, Tammy and Jeremiah; and his little sister Allie; grandparents John and Janelle Heiserman; Jim and Penny Sargent; Aunts: Michele Mantonya (Chad), Amber McEwan (Mike), Jamie Brownlee (James), and Heidi Heiserman; Uncles Jacob Heiserman, Josh Heiserman (Abbi), Liam Heiserman; many cousins, extended family, and dear friends.

Emmett was loved by many and touched so many people in his short life. He will be greatly missed. Memorials to Funeral Love Fund or Ronald McDonald House @ Children's Mercy KC.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday July 9th and start at 10am with the funeral to follow at 1pm at the Appleton City High School West Gym. Burial will follow in the Appleton City Cemetery.

Obituary - DaLuca Gayn Daeley

DaLuca Gayn Daeley of Creighton, MO was called to her Eternal Home on June 29, 2024. DaLuca was born July 21, 2022 in Kansas City, Kansas to Dakoda and Logan Daeley. DaLuca was filled with as much spunk and sass as her body could hold and then some. 

She loved playing with her siblings and cousins, bunny “hunting”, watching Boss Baby, and eating just about everything, but especially popcorn and sweets.

She was smart, funny, mischievous and ever so beautiful. DaLuca is survived by her parents Dakoda and Logan Daeley (Creighton, MO), her siblings Dalsyng, Lennox, and Ledger (Creighton, MO), maternal grandparents, Tami and William Collins (Raymore, MO), Brian and Denise Sikes (Valles Mines, MO), paternal grandparents, Sally and Paul Daeley (Sherwood, ND), aunt, Roxanne Daeley (Bismarck, ND), aunt and Godmother, Cassidee Sikes (Belton, MO), and uncle, Hunter Sikes (Raymore, MO), along with many cousins, great aunts and uncles, and countless loved ones. A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held from 5-7PM on Monday, July 8, 2024 with funeral services to start at 7PM, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Raymore, MO.
