Butler teen arrested after crash

On July 4th around 1:20 a.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County arrested 18 year old Lane A. Webb of Butler, Missouri.

Mr. Webb was arrested on the following charges 1.) Driving While Intoxicated 2.) Failure to maintain the right half of the roadway resulting in a crash 2.) Failure to display valid plates.

Lane A. Webb was booked into the Bates County Jail in Butler and he was later released.

Stolen vehicle recovered in Rich Hill

At 17:31 07/03/2024 City of Butler Dispatch contacted Chief of police Mike Buehler City of Rich Hill Police and advised that Vernon County had a stolen vehicle from 07/02/2024. 

Chief Buehler was told that the vehicle could possibly be at an address located on Pine St in Rich Hill. The Chief and other officers went to the location and found the vehicle. 

The owner of the vehicle was contacted, and the vehicle was released to the owner per Vernon County’s request. Chief Buehler Released the vehicle to the victim after the vehicle was processed by Rich Hill Police. Rich Hill Police have several leads they are looking into.

Obituary - Gary Lee Cramer

Celebration of life services for Gary Lee Cramer will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 6 at the Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) in Butler, Missouri.

Gary Lee Cramer, age 78 of Butler, Missouri died Saturday June 29, 2024 at his home. He was born December 27, 1945 to Harlan Edward and Edna Nadine Dishion Cramer in Centralia, Missouri.

Gary is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Underwood and husband Dr. Jim Wirkkula of Butler; three grandchildren Harlan Underwood and wife Hannah, Dean Underwood and significant other Avery Brooks, and Jocelyn Underwood; one great-grandson, Jackson Lee Underwood; one great-granddaughter on the way; sister, Joyce Belshe of Houston, Missouri; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother Dale Cramer.

5 years of service to the city of Harrisonville

During Monday’s City of Harrisonville Board of Aldermen meeting, Mayor Zaring presented David Carpenter with his 5-year service award!

Carpenter currently serves as the Chief Operator for the City’s Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Thank you David for your years of dedicated service and for the steady leadership you bring to the City!

Obituary - Steven Albin

Steven Albin, age 67, of Clinton, Missouri passed away on June 29, 2024 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. 

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 5, 2024 at the Vansant-Mills Funeral Home in Clinton, Missouri with visitation from 1:00-2:00 PM prior to the service. 

Burial to follow in the Parks Chapel Cemetery in Clinton, Missouri. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital and may be left in care of the funeral home.

Steve was born November 10, 1956 in Kansas City, Missouri to Sterling “Frank" Albin and Betty Peek Albin. Steve spent his early years living with his grandparents William and Dorothy Albin in Clinton, Missouri.

Steve's school years were spent with his father Frank and Stepmother Susan Albin in Lee’s Summit Missouri. Steve attended Lee’s Summit Schools. Steve worked in Kansas City several years before moving to Clinton Missouri where he worked for Rival Manufacturing in Clinton.

Steve loved the outdoors, he was always finding arrowheads and interesting rocks. He had a kind heart and was always willing to give to others.

Steve was preceded in death by his father Frank Albin, mother Betty, and a sister Debra.

Survivors include his stepmother Susan Albin, Clinton, Missouri, his brother John (Kim) Albin, Big Cabin, Oklahoma, stepdaughters Wendy and Billie and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home in Clinton, Missouri.
