Safety Village a great success

Last week 35 preschool age children attended the safety village program presented by the Bates County Elks 2653 and directed by Tiffany Blaser.

The children had fun learning about safety and community helpers like the BCMH paramedics, butler Police officers, butler fighter fighters, and the osage valley crew.

The Elks would like to thank all of our community sponsors, donors and all special guest for making this year's program a success.

Butler Chamber Car Show a hit yesterday

Around 30 vehicles braved the weather yesterday as the Butler Chamber of Commerce hosted a car show on the historic Butler square.

The crowd enjoyed food and live music from Leon Troyer with special guest Frankie G "The double axe duo" and of course some really cool cars. The trophies were fabricated and made by Bennett & Miller Transmission of Butler.

The chamber would like to thank everyone who came out and supported this event. A special thanks to all the volunteers who worked hard to make this a success.
