Obituary - Thelma Cleo Six
Thelma Cleo Six, 91, of Adrian, Missouri passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024 in Overland Park, Kansas. Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Atkinson Funeral Home in Adrian, Missouri with a visitation at 10:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Adrian Rural Fire Department or Crescent Hill Cemetery. A full obituary will be posted when it is available.

Obituary - Nita L. Hanna
Nita L. Hanna, age 65, of Raymore, Missouri passed away peacefully at her home on August 23, 2024.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at Cullen Funeral Home, Inc., 612 W. Foxwood Dr., Raymore, Missouri 64083. The visitation will be held from 5-6 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 6:00 p.m.
Nita was born in Kansas City, Missouri on September 30, 1958, the daughter of Everett E. Rutherford and Norma J. Shorthose. Nita was one of twelve children, growing up in a large family, there was never a dull moment. She received her GED in 1978 and pursued her associate’s degree in criminal justice in 1998. Nita pursued her career as an administrator’s assistant for the Jackson County Family Court for many years. Nita loved spending her spare time playing cards, Bingo, Bowling, and watching Hallmark movies.
Nita was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Norma Rutherford; her husband, Steve Hankins; three brothers, James, George, and Michael Rutherford; and one sister, Linda Shoemaker.
She is survived by her two loving children, James Hankins and Angel Bebout (Shaun); one brother, Everett D. “Sonny” Rutherford; six sisters, Deanna Morris, Katherine Robinette, Virginia “Ginger” Wilson (Bob), Lisa Robbins (Jimmy), Gladys Brown (Scott), and Reba Mitzel; five grandchildren, Haylee Brown (Jerry), Hanna Skaggs, Kayleen Bebout, Austin Bebout, and Ayden Bebout; and six great grandchildren, Keaton, Karson, Kinslee, Wrenley, Willow, and Blakeleigh.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Parkinson’s Foundation 13451 Briar St suite 202, Leawood, KS 66209.

Bates County 4-H News
It was a hot one but that didn’t stop the community from coming out to see what Bates County 4-H is all about.
Youth got to try out projects such as shooting sports, cake decorating, sewing, golf and small animals. It was so great to see everyone.
Big thank you to all of the 4-H volunteers and to the Bates County Fair board for sponsoring the event. New 4-H year starts October 1st.

Nevada women injured in Vernon County crash
On Sunday August 25th around 7:35 p.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Vernon County along with the Vernon County Sheriff's Office responded to a motorcycle accident on US 54 one mile west of Nevada.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occured when the west bound 2008 Kawasaki Vulcan 500 driven by a 60 year old Amber D. Nowak traveled off the roadway in a construction sight, struck a cone, and overturned.
Amber D. Nowak sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri for treatment.
