Busy evening for the Adrian Fire Department

The Adrian Fire Department has been busy tonight responding to grass fires.

With that being said we would like to remind you not to discard cigarettes out of the window of your vehicle due to the drought we are currently in.

Just one small spark can start a very large fire! As always we appreciate the support of the community that we are blessed to serve!

Watch Out for Scam Involving Letters from ‘Tax Processing Unit’

Mid America Live recently received information that scam artists continue to target Missouri taxpayers with a scam involving letters from the "Tax Processing Unit."

The letters make threats, including the seizure of taxpayers' property unless they immediately pay back taxes.

This recurring scam has been reported to the department several times in recent years. It follows a common strategy that involves scam artists posing as a public official or a government entity. The goal is to cause confusion and use high-pressured tactics to swindle money from unsuspecting victims.
