Update: Two vehicle accident north of Adrian

On Tuesday September 17th around 4:10 p.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County along with the Bates County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident on Route AA at I-49.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the south bound 2016 Ford F-250 driven by a 21 year old Gabriel T. Wiedel of Beggs, Oklahoma struck the side of an east bound 2012 Chrysler Town and Country driven by a 31 year old Ashley R. Patterson of Adrian, Missouri.

Ashley R. Patterson sustained minor injuries and is seeking her own medical treatment.

Runaway juvenile in Belton

The Belton Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in locating runaway juvenile Milo Keiser. Milo was last seen on 9-13-2024 wearing khaki cargo pants and a pink sweatshirt.

Milo is 5ft 9in tall, weighs 142 pounds with blonde hair and green eyes. Milo is believed to still be in the area, possibly riding an "e-bike".

Anyone with information on Milo's location is asked to contact Det. Chrostowski at 816-331-1500.


Obituary - Walter "Dub" Harold Kennedy

Walter Harold “Dub” Kennedy Jr. passed away Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Freeman Hospital West, in Joplin, MO. He was born September 22, 1953, in Ft. Scott, Kansas to Walter Harold and Gwen Leona “Tiny” Morris and he graduated from Metz High School. He worked as a custom applicator of agricultural spraying.

Dub is survived by his children and their spouses, Jodi & Travis, Dena & Mike, Floyd & Falon, Dalton, Dacota & Joel, Duncan & Jennifer. Additional survivors include 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded by his parents; two brothers, Morris Mulkins, and Rick Kennedy; a sister Sharon Wright; and a granddaughter, Kaycee Hawks.

Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Antioch Cemetery with Myron Koehn officiating.

Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice, with the funeral home serving as custodian.

Greenwood man arrested on child sex charges

Around 2 p.m. yesterday, detectives with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office served search warrants in Cass County and Jackson County.
As a result, they arrested 29-year-old Andrew Lovisone of Greenwood.

Mr. Lovisone is charged with two counts of Promoting Child Pornography (1st Degree), which is a Class B Felony. It’s alleged Andrew Levisone downloaded child pornography from the internet.

Mr. Lovisone is currently being held at the Cass County Jail with no bond allowed.

Great night for Butler Lady Bears Volleyball

The Butler Lady Bears Varsity Volleyball Team defeated the Archie Lady Whirlwinds tonight in 3 sets with the scores being: Set 1 25-16, Set 2 25-16 and Set 3 25-15 to move to 5-1 on the season.

Butler will hit the road Thursday evening as they travel to take on rival the Adrian Blackhawks in Adrian starting at 5pm.

Butler JH Football defeated at home by Versailles

The Butler JH Football team (0-1) hosted the Versailles Tigers (1-0) in JH football action.

Butler was led by Frazion Wisdom and Renner Martin who both had touchdown runs for the Bears. Wisdom busted a 74 yard score and Martin added at 24 yard score.

Versailles was led on the ground by Ryan Walters and Jaxton Allen who both scored multiple touchdowns for the Tigers. Walters also had a kick return for a touchdown to start the 2nd half.

Versailles would go on to win this game 32-12 as Butler will fall to 0-2 on the season. Butler JH Football team will travel to Midway to take on the Vikings at 5:30 p.m. September 23rd

Garden City man injured in Cass County crash

On Tuesday September 17th around 6:33 a.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County along with the Cass County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a one vehicle accident on MO-7 just North of S Famuliner Road.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the north bound 2016 Jeep Patrior driven by a 36 year old Justin K. Mickelberry of Garden City, Missouri experienced a tire blow out causing the vehicle to travel off the left side of the roadway.

Mr. Mickelberry sustained minor injuries and was transported to Cass Regional Medical Center in Harrisonville, Missouri for treatment.
