Obituary - Owen Dale Elliott
Owen worked as an auto mechanic alongside his father at Elliott Garage on Spring Street for thirty-five years. He was interested in becoming a fire fighter from an early age because his father was a member of the El Dorado Springs Fire Department.
Owen followed in his father’s footsteps, officially joining the department at the age of eighteen. He served the department until his retirement as chief in 2018. He was also an instructor for the Missouri State Fire School.
Owen married Shauna Lea Beason on July 7, 1978. They were together until Shauna’s death on June 14, 2014.
Owen loved to bowl and to study anything pertaining to the history of the Civil War. He was a quiet man who was there when his family, friends, and community needed him. He will be greatly missed.
Preceding Owen in death were his parents, Eugene F. and Sadie E. Elliott; his brother, Phillip Nolan Elliott; and his wife, Shauna Elliott.
Survivors include his daughter, Angela Johnson (Justin); granddaughter, Kausha Cluck; grandson, Blake Cluck; great-grandchildren: Hanlea, Millie, and Lincoln Beckford; niece, Autumn Gerster; nephew, Kade Gerster (Kasee); sister, Ava Green (Daniel); and many aunts and cousins.
