St, Clair County Sheriff's Office Arrest Report: September 17th, 2024 through September 23rd, 2024

September 17th – Felony Arrest (Dangerous Drugs) – On September 17th, a St. Clair County Deputy performed a well-being check on a vehicle parked off the side of the road. Upon making contact, the driver was identified as Carmen Cameron. A search of the vehicle revealed multiple baggies and a container all containing a crystal substance field testing positive for methamphetamine. Carmen was arrested for Possession of a Controlled substance Except Thirty-Five Grams or Less of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid (a class D Felony), and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (A class D Misdemeanor). Carmen was transported to the St. Clair County Jail to be booked and released, pending formal charges.

September 17th – Property Damage/Leaving the Scene of an Accident in Collins – On September 18th, a St. Clair County Deputy responded to a call for service on Delaporte Street in Collins. Upon arrival, the Deputy made contact with the property owner who stated around 11:00 p.m. on September 17th, someone drove a vehicle into their mailbox, and drove off. The Deputy took a report and photographs of the tire tracks, the damaged mailbox, and canvassed the neighborhood.

September 19th – Warrant Arrest (Probation Violation) – On September 19th, a St. Clair County Deputy arrested Dakota Wittmeyer at the Johnson County Jail for a St. Clair County Warrant for a Probation Violation. The original charge on the warrant is Possession of a Controlled substance Except Thirty-Five Grams or Less of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid (a class D Felony). Dakota was transported to the St. Clair County Jail and the bond was set at $15,000 cash or surety.

September 20th – Stolen Property in Lowry City – On September 20th, a St. Clair County Deputy responded to a call for service on South Tower Street in Lowry City, in regards to a stolen firearm. Upon arrival, the Deputy made contact with the property owner who stated that his 1911 .22 Caliber pistol had been missing since September 7th. The Deputy took a report, which included the property owner giving a description of a suspect and of the firearm.

September 21st – Felony Arrest (Dangerous Drugs) – On September 20th, a St. Clair County Deputy performed a traffic stop on a vehicle that Kelly Trester was the driver of, for speeding. During a search of the vehicle a glass pipe was found that field tested positive for methamphetamine. A search of her person and of her purse concluded in another glass smoking device and two ziploc bags of a crystalline substance that all field tested positive for methamphetamine. Kelly was arrested for Possession of a Controlled substance Except Thirty-Five Grams or Less of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid (a class D Felony) and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia - Amphetamine or Methamphetamine (A class E Felony). Kelly Trester was booked and released pending formal charges.

Obituary - Barbara D. Page

Barbara Page, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Sunday September 22nd 2024. She was born December 31, 1936. She was the daughter of Orval and Mollie Ethlyn Simpson Argent. Her life was a testament to love, family, and dedication, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was 87.

Barbara was married to the love of her life, Lee Page, for 70 beautiful years. Together they built a life filled with family, laughter, and cherished memories. She is survived by her devoted husband Lee, her son Butch Page and his wife Susan of Harrisonville, MO, and her six grandchildren, along with 15 great-grandchildren. Barbara is preceded in death by her daughter, Renee Page, and her grandson, Cory Allin.

Barbara’s home was the heart of countless family gatherings, where she was known for her famous BBQ brisket, baked beans, and her homemade German chocolate cake. She took great joy in bringing her family together, creating moments of warmth and togetherness.

When she wasn’t traveling with Lee, Barbara enjoyed spending her time cross-stitching, crocheting baby blankets for her great-grandchildren, and getting lost in fictional novels. She had a deep love for gardening, often sharing her home-canned goods with family and close friends.

Barbara was baptized in Winfield, MO, and was a long-time member of the Eastern Star in Cleveland, MO, where she lived for many years.

Her faith and community involvement were important aspects of her life.

In honor of Barbara's memory, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 4400 Clayton Ave, St. Louis, MO 63110.

A Butler Bear Homecoming

We are inviting and encouraging businesses and alumni to participate in this year's homecoming parade. The parade will take place Friday, October 11th.

The parade line up time will be at 1:30 pm. The businesses and alumni will enter in the middle entrance of the fairgrounds and will follow the alumni. The parade is scheduled to start at 2:00 pm.

Obituary - Sheila Ondilee Taylor

Sheila Ondilee Taylor, 59, of Clinton, Missouri passed away Sunday, September 15, 2024 at her home. She was born May 10, 1965 in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Austin Ray Whitfield and Lois Ondilee (Raybourn) Whitfield.

Sheila enjoyed crafts of all kinds, going to casinos, hanging out with her close friends and spending time with her many cousins. In her early adult years she enjoyed trips to the Gulf of Mexico with her mother.

Surviving are two daughters, Vanessa Santoya and Olivia Delgado; three grandchildren; and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandchild in infancy, Christian.

Henry County Burglary and Vehicle Break-in Suspect Apprehended in Johnson County

September 22, 2024 – At 4:00 p.m., the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office Investigation Lieutenant was contacted by a Henry County resident, who reported a vehicle break-in at their residence. 

The victim provided video surveillance and photos of the suspect and their vehicle. They also reported a related burglary in Henry County involving the same suspect earlier that day.

At 5:47 p.m., Johnson County detective located the suspect’s vehicle at a residence in 1100 block SW 13 Highway. While awaiting backup, the detective observed the suspect flee into a cornfield carrying a black bag. Leeton Officer and other deputies responded, and a perimeter was established.

The suspect, Donald R. Loggins, 51years of age, a resident of Sedalia, was apprehended shortly thereafter. Loggins had an active no-bond warrant out of Missouri Probation and Parole
.
Mr. Loggins was turned over to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office for their active burglary and vehicle break-in investigation.

Obituary - William "Bill" L Gollhofer

William L. “Bill” Gollhofer, age 86, Nevada, MO, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2024 at Kansas City Hospice House following a brief illness. Bill was born November 11, 1937 in Sarcoxie, MO to William and Dena Gollhofer.

Bill graduated from Pierce City High School in 1955 and served in the U.S. Army from 1956-1958 in Germany. On August 18, 1962, Bill married Linda Sue Good, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Nevada, MO. Bill and Linda recently celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary. Bill served over 30 years as a law enforcement officer in Kansas City, MO, the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office, and the Vernon County Prosecutor’s office. Bill enjoyed raising cattle and gardening with Linda over the many years on their farm. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and had a love of nature.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents William and Dena, his sister Ann Wilson, and brother Francis (Bud) Gollhofer.

Bill’s greatest love was for family and God. He was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus #855.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Nevada with Fr. Peter Savidge officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Mt. Calvary cemetery in Nevada. A Rosary service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening followed by Visitation until 6:30 pm at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.

In Lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Vernon County Cancer Relief, or the Kansas City Hospice House c/o Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.

Butler JH lady bears volleyball does well tonight in home tri-match

The Butler JH Lady Bears A Team and B Team hosted a tri- match with the Sherwood Lady Marksmen and the Appleton City Lady Bulldogs tonight.

The Butler Lady Bears A Team was on the court first against the Appleton City Lady Bulldogs and won both sets 25-23. The lady bears A team would then defeat the Sherwood Lady Marksmen winning 25-20 in both sets to remain perfect.

The Butler Lady Bears B Team defeated Sherwood in three sets and lost against Appleton City in two sets.

The Lady Bears will host the El Dorado Springs Lady Bulldogs on Thursday. Please come out and support these ladies if you can! Enjoy some photos from the game tonight.

Butler Lady bears volleyball wins tonight on the road in Appleton City

The Butler Lady Bears JV and Varsity Volleyball Team traveled tonight to take on the Appleton City Lady Bulldogs.

The Butler JV girls were the first to step on the court and only played one set which they one 25-19. 

Next up was the Butler Varsity Girls, fresh off a second place finish in the Lamar Tiger Classic, battled the Lady Bulldogs and ended up winning three sets to two.

The first two set was won by Appleton City 26-28 and 19-25. The Lady Bears would go on to win the next three matches 25-15, 25-13, 15-4 to win the match 3-2.

The Butler Lady Bears will be back in action tomorrow night as they host the Liberal Bulldogs tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. Please come out and support these ladies if you can make it out! Enjoy some photos from the game tonight:
