Archie stays undefeated on the road tonight
The defending 8-man state football champion the Archie Whirlwinds (5-0) was able to get a road win tonight against Bishop Leblond 38-14 to stay undefeated.
Archie will host Drexel next Friday as we revisit the Southern Cass Clash that has been so exciting to watch the last few years.
Adrian Blackhawks shut out the Butler Bears on homecoming
The Butler Bears football team hit the road this evening to take on the rival Adrian Blackhawks for Adrian’s homecoming.
The first quarter highlights included a interception by Butler senior Kaleb Mallatt and a blocked punt by Adrian's junior Bryler Ford at the end of the 1st quarter it was scoreless.
Adrian scored three times in the second quarter one by senior Colton Miller, one by senior Mason Rusow, and one by junior Kobe Enos to lead the contest 19-0 at halftime against the Bears.
Adrian slowed the pace down in the 3rd quarter and wore the Butler defense down with rushes by seniors Colten Miller and Brock Ford pushed the lead to 25-0 at the end of the 3rd quarter.
Blackhawks senior Colton Miller was able to score his 2nd touchdown of the night in the 4th quarter to help Adrian cruise to a 32-0 victory over the bears.
Adrian will move to 4-1 on the season and hit the road next week as they travel to take on the Lincoln Cardinals. Butler is now 2-3 on the season and will also be on the road next week in Cole Camp.

Obituary - William "Bill" Frank Reid
William Frank Reid, the son of Essie B. Rush and Roy Alford Reid was born on November 6, 1929 in Kansas City, Missouri. Bill and Peggy were married on April 14, 1973. Bill finished his sophomore year of school, and worked delivering milk and also worked at a bakery.
Bill joined the United States Navy in 1950 and was honorably discharged in 1954. Bill was also an electrician/supervisor at the Las Vegas Airport for many years. Bill and Peggy lived in Las Vegas for 23 years before the moved back to Missouri. Bill loved woodworking and built lots of things for their house.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Essie (Rush) Reid, and Father Roy Alford Reid; two sisters, Francis Taylor and Lila Smith; four brothers, Burl Reid, Roy Gene, Jack Reid, and Jerry Reid; one son, Buddy; two grandsons, Gary, Jr. “Hambone”, and Larry Dee. Bill is survived by one daughter, Cindy and Gene Adams; two sons, Roger and Gary; and one sister, Joy Fansler; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm, Saturday, September 28, 2024 at the Rich Hill Christian Church. Memorials are suggested to the Wounded Warrior Project, support.woundedwarriorproject.org

Obituary - William "Bill" Ward
William "Bill" Ward, 64 of Orange County California passed away September 23, 2024. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, October 9, 2024 in Sharon Cemetery, Drexel, Missouri. Services under the direction of Mullinax Funeral Home, Drexel Chapel (816-657-4400). Messages of condolence may be left for the family at www.mullinaxfuneralhome.com.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William Arlie Ward. He was born on December 19, 1959, in Wichita, Kansas, to Helen Marie Poindexter-Guerrero and Gilbert Ward. William was a beloved son, brother, and uncle.
He attended school in Wichita, and worked as a warehouse operative and in retail in Kansas and California before retiring. William's hobbies and interests included automobiles, diecasts, attending car shows and listening to live music. William was kind, polite and respectful to everyone he met.
He is survived by his sister, Lou Wanna Katz and husband Harold, and nephew Michael Everitt.
