Butler Chamber Welcomes Integrity Solutions Heating & Cooling!

The Butler Chamber of Commerce would like to welcome our newest member, Integrity Solutions Heating & Cooling!

"Started in August 2020, at Integrity Solutions we are a Veteran Owned and Operated full-service HVAC company. We specialize in residential new construction projects, we offer residential replacement, maintenance, and repair services as well. We are located in Archie Missouri next to the Fishing Dock. 

Our biggest desire in joining the Chamber of Commerce is to raise awareness in the community that we exist and seek to serve the community with our gifts and talents in the HVAC field. We do this by serving our customers with honest, fair pricing and INTEGRITY. 

We want to be a company that the community trust and turns to and let our best form of advertisement be the word-of-mouth advertisement that comes from our customers once they have allowed us to serve their HVAC needs.

Update: Structure fire at the Adrian Methodist Church

On behalf of the Adrian Fire Department and Adrian Police Department..

On 10/9/24 at approximately 6:15am Bates County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call in reference to a fire at the Methodist Church located at the intersection of Kentucky Street and Main Street in Adrian Mo.

When Adrian Police arrived on scene, they observed heavy smoke coming from the eaves of the building. As firemen made entry into the church they observed the church to be fully involved in fire.
Additional mutual aid was requested. 

Fire Departments from Butler, Amsterdam, Drexel, Central Cass, Harrisonville and Dolan West Dolan responded to assist. Bates County EMS, Missouri State Highway Patrol and Bates County Sheriff’s Office also responded to assist.

The investigation into the cause of this fire is still under investigation. The Adrian Fire Department has requested assistance from the Fire Marshal’s Office and the ATF. No further information is available at this time.

Butler JH Football drops a close one to Warsaw

Butler JH Football drops a close one to Warsaw...

The Butler JH Bears Football Team lost a hard fought game tonight against the Warsaw Wildcats 20-16. Butler was lead by Frazion Wisdom who had two touchdowns on the evening! 

On defense David Woolace and Gabe Strauss both had fumble recoveries and Frazion Wisdom had an interception. The bears will host Sherwood on October 14th.




Adrian Bank Parking Lot Project

Starting tomorrow, Wednesday October 9th, the west parking lot entrance to Adrian Bank – Butler Branch will be closed temporarily due to new concrete being installed on the north side of the bank. 

The west parking lot entrance will need to closed for the remainder of this week, and will reopen next week. Entrance to the bank, as well as the drive thru windows and drive-up 24 HOUR ATM, will still be accessible through the east parking lot entrance to the bank; via S. Sunset Drive.

We would like to make the public aware that the BANK IS OPEN DURING THIS CONSTRUCTION. THE BANK LOBBY IS OPEN DURING NORMAL BUSINESS HOURS. THE DRIVE THRU LANES ARE ALSO OPEN DURING NORMAL BUSINESS HOURS AS WELL AS THE DRIVE-UP 24 HOUR ATM IS AVAILABLE.

We apologize for any inconvenience to our customers during this improvement project, but the end result will be a much better parking lot for our customers.

Obituary - Jeanette Jane Douglas

Jeanette Jane Douglas, 47, Warrensburg, MO (formerly of Nevada) passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. Jeanette was born October 18, 1976 in Nevada, MO to James Alan and Connie Jane (Hartley) Douglas.

Jeanette was raised in Nevada and graduated from Nevada High School Class of 1994. After two years at Fort Scott Community College, she graduated with an Associate’s Degree. Jeanette has worked for Information Management Services (IMS) in Mexico, MO in data entry for the past 8 years. She loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren. In her spare time, she very much enjoyed gaming.

Survivors include her son Alex Smith (Hailee), Carthage, MO; three grandchildren, Cain Smith, Astrid Smith, and Freyja Smith; her parents, Jim and Connie Douglas, Moundville, MO; two brothers, Rod Douglas (Leta), Moundville, MO, and Ben Douglas (Debbie), Moundville, MO; two sisters, Wendy Mitchell (Phillip), Kansas City, MO, and Nicole MaCree (Tony), Kansas City, MO; several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; as well as her dear friends, Latasha Zabala and Vanesa Zabala, both of Warrensburg, MO

A graveside committal will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at Moore Cemetery in Nevada with Ray Dean Scism officiating.

Obituary - Nick Charles Cable

Nick Charles Cable passed away Sunday, October 6, 2024, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, MO at the age of 70, after a brief illness.

Nick was born in Houston, TX on December 16, 1953, to Otis Leroy and Sandra Ann (Bernich) Cable. He graduated from St. Thomas High School in Houston, TX and went on to receive a degree from the University of Texas. On March 17, 2001, he married Darcy Marie Nobriga in Eureka Springs, AR and she preceded him in death, on November 19, 2023. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was a lifelong devout Catholic. He loved football, especially University of Texas Longhorns, Tennessee Titans and the Houston Texans. Additionally, he was a fan of the boxing legend, Muhammad Ali and was big on fitness.

Survivors include a daughter, Caitlyn Drake and husband, Steven of Nevada, MO; one brother, Andy Cable and wife, Rebecca, Wimberley, TX; four sisters, Molly Wendt and husband Bruce, Wimberley, TX, Amy Cable, Liberty, TX and Georgia Miller and husband, Scott, Iowa, LA, and Teresa Cable, Wimberley, TX; a step-brother, Jaeson Jones, Wimberley, TX; step-mother, Shari Cable, Wimberley, TX; and three grandchildren, Preston Drake, Paxtyn Drake, and Adaleigh Cable-Drake. In addition to his wife, Darcy Cable, he was also preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Kevin Cable.

A service to celebrate Nick’s life will be 2:30 pm Friday, October 11, 2024, at Ferry Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until service time Friday, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the funeral home serving as custodian.

Obituary - Billy Joell Evans, Sr.

Billy Joell Evans, Sr., age 88, Nevada, MO passed away on Sunday, October 6th, 2024 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO following a lengthy illness. Billy was born August 20th, 1936 in Jerico Springs, MO to William Thomas and Dora Mae (Shields) Evans. He married Jeanette Joy Long on August 30th, 1956 in Altus, OK and she survives of the home.

Billy was raised in Jerico Springs and attended school in Bronaugh graduating from Bronaugh High School Class 1954. He joined the United States Air Force and served for eight years as a B-47 Crew Chief during the Vietnam Era. Following his years in the service, Billy worked for Foremost Dairy, Joseph A. Pohl Construction, and then 18 years for Fram Corp in Nevada. He also raised cattle and hogs. For the past 20 years, he and Joy have enjoyed spending winters in Raymondville, TX.

In addition to his wife, Joy of the home, he is survived by two children: a daughter, Barbie Bell (Gary), Clovis, NM, and a son, Billy Evans, Jr. (Terry), Surf City, NC; 11 grandchildren, Jevan Shorten (Brittney), Nevada, MO, Skye Klinksick, Lamar, MO, Darrick Crooks (Brooke), Columbia, MO, Dakota Bright (Whitney), Prairie Village, KS, Darcy Bond, Nevada, MO, Darian Steele, Joplin, MO, Trevor Thron (Jessica), Clovis, NM, Tatum Vaughan, Clovis, NM, Tara Morrison (Jacob), Clovis, NM, Jillian Evans, Oceanside, CA, and Bryce Evans, Oceanside, CA; numerous great-grandchildren, several nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Debbie Evans and Danita Bright; two sisters, and a brother.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 12th, 2024 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Pastor Terry Mosher officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Hall Cemetery in Jerico Springs, MO.
