Update: Wife charged in husbands murder in Benton County

**Original Story:

11/05/24 at approximately 8:30 a.m., deputies were dispatched to a rural Cole Camp residence on B Highway for a shooting victim. Scotty R. Roark 56, of rural Lincoln MO was located with a gunshot wound through his lower torso.

Scotty stated his wife, Katherine L. Roark 52, shot him as he was airing up his truck tire at their rural Lincoln residence on AB Highway.

Scotty was taken by ambulance to a trauma hospital. Due to inclement weather the air ambulance was unable to fly. Katherine was taken into custody at their residence without any resistance and transported to the Benton County Jail where she was placed on a 24 hour investigative hold. This is an ongoing investigation, so I will update you as this progresses.

*Updated Story*

Katherine L. Roark of rural Lincoln Missouri was charged with Domestic Assault - 1st Degree and Armed Criminal Action, in the shooting of her husband Scotty Roark on the morning of November 5th. Katherine's bond was set at $500,000

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred around 8:38 p.m. Wednesday November 6th in Bates County as a 2021 Volvo VNL, driven by a 29-year-old man from Briarwood, New York, attempted to change lanes and struck a 2012 Dodge Caliber, driven by a 44-year-old woman of Butler.

Following the accident, the woman in the Dodge Caliber was transported by private vehicle to Bates County Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
