Archie hosting Appleton City in District Championship Game...

The Missouri State High School Football 8-Man defending state champion Archie Whirlwinds (10-0) defeated the Rich Hill Tigers 57 to 0 on Friday night. Archie will now move on to host the Appleton City Bulldogs (8-2) in the District Championship game on Friday November 15th.

Appleton City is coming of a wild high scoring district semi final game which the bulldogs were able to beat the Drexel Bobcats 102-74. Archie was able to beat Appleton City on September 6th with the final score 54-42!

Obituary - Glenda Lee Ritter

Glenda L. Ritter, 72, Harrisonville, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. A Memorial Visitation will be held from 12:00-1:30pm on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO.

Glenda was born August 2, 1952 in Independence, Missouri, a daughter of Robert Paul and Christina (Albertson) Endicott. She spent her early years in Independence, and was a 1970 graduate of Van Horn High School.

Glenda was united in marriage to Michael Ritter in 1973 and they moved to Rich Hill, MO where they raised their family. Glenda became a Certified Nurses Aide, and spent several years working in care facilities in Bates County and Cass County, Missouri. After her retirement, she made her home in Harrisonville to be closer to her family.

Glenda was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Michael. She is survived two daughters, Carrie Melton, and her husband, Scott, of North Kansas City, MO, and Rebecca Ritter, of Harrisonville; her son, Michael D. Ritter, and his wife Brooke, of Amsterdam, MO; a brother, Paul Endicott, and his wife, Lavonne, of Buckner, MO; fifteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Norris back to back Cross County State Champion for Harrisonville Wildcats

We would like to congratulate Harrisonville High School Senior Kayleigh Norris who has now won back to back Cross Country Championships for the wildcats.

Kayleigh competed and won the Class 4 Championship that was held yesterday in a cold, windy and rainy Columbia, Missouri!

In one of the most dominant displays of the MSHSAA Championships, Harrisonville senior Kayleigh Norris would dominate the Class 4 girls field with a time of 18:29.3 to win the gold.

The Alabama commit defeated Parkway Central runner-up Gabrielle Moresi by 57.7 seconds. Moresi would end up finishing with a time of 19:27. 

Way to go Kayleigh! We wish you the best in your future and thank you for all your hard work and dedication to Harrisonville High School. 
 

Dry with above normal temperatures

Dry weather and above-normal temperatures are expected through Tuesday. Normal high temperatures for this time of year are in the middle 50s, so high temperatures will be 5-10 degrees above normal. The next chance for precipitation will arrive early Wednesday, with scattered showers possible.

We would like to congratulate Julie Bitner who is the lucky winner of this adorable kids’ jacket, customized for Chiefs fans by Christi Trapp from the HIM Department of the Bates County Memorial Hospital. Julie plans to gift this special jacket to her granddaughter.

This raffle was part of our efforts to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, with all proceeds going to the BCMH Cares Mammogram Fund.

The City of Harrisonville is aware of power outage that is affecting a significant portion of our community.

The outage is also affecting Evergy customers within our community and appears to be an issue on Evergy’s side of the operation.

We are hopeful that power will be restored quickly.

Kathy was 60 years old when she disappeared and is now 61 years of age. Her date of birth is July 16, 1963. Kathy Logsdon is a Caucasian female with brown hair and brown eyes. She is 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds..

Kathy Logsdon has been reported missing from Nevada, which is located in Vernon County, Missouri.
