Obituary - Ronald (Ronnie) E. Sexson

Ronald (Ronnie) E. Sexson was born September 22, 1956, in Independence, Missouri and was a lifetime resident. He graduated from The Young School in 1974. He is survived by a sister, Sharon Sexson, of Harrisonville, Missouri, a brother, Richard Sexson (Emalee) of Independence, Missouri and two nephews, Tyler and Andrew Sexson. He was predeceased by his father, Kenneth M Sexson and mother, Violet M Morgan (nee Arnold).

After high school, Ronnie continued to live and home and work at Red Lobster for many years. He then went to work for JobOne as a mail clerk in a government office building and stayed there until his retirement in 2021. Upon the death of his father, Kenneth Sexson, the opportunity arose for Ronnie to become a proud homeowner. He loved living with his dogs over the years (Cody, Butch and Baby Girl), decorating his home, collecting sports memorabilia and Civil War items, and just living his life his way.

Over Ronnie's working career he received many commendations. One included an invitation to Washington DC to receive an award from Representative Emanuel Cleaver recognizing him for his attendance and work ethics. He was excited for the trip and proud that he was known as a dependable person.

The siblings joined together and purchased property at Pomme de Terre lake and countless weekends were spent at "the lake". He was happy there spending time with family and spending time fishing. His favorite activity was riding his 4-wheeler. He could be seen buzzing around on the back roads for hours with a giant smile on his face.

Ronnie overcame many obstacles in his life. He never gave up the fight.

Visitation will be held 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 16, 2024 at Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.

Funeral Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 16, 2024 at Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with interment at Dayton Cemetery, Garden City, Missouri.
