CASS COUNTY – Crews OPENED the intersection of MO Route 291 and MO Route 58/(Hubach Hill Rd.) on Monday, December 6th. The intersection closed in mid-Sept. 2024 for the construction of a new roundabout.

TRAFFIC ALERT: Route Z CLOSED in Bates Co. for Pipe Replacement Dec. 19-23 & 26-31
 

Where: Six (6) locations along Bates County Route Z between Bates County Route D and Missouri Route 18 southeast of Adrian

When: 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m., Thursday, December 19 through Monday, December 23, and Thursday, December 26 through Tuesday, December 31

What: MoDOT crews replacing damaged pipes underneath the road

Traffic Impacts:

  • Route Z CLOSED where crews are working
  • Drivers will have access to driveways and entrances on either end of the work zone but will not be able to travel through the work zone
  • No signed detours
  • All Route Z lanes OPEN during nighttime hours, Christmas holiday and on weekends
  • Drivers urged to find alternate routes
  • Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zone
  • Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts

Weather and/or scheduling conflicts could alter the work schedule.

Obituary - Michael Alan Bahma

Michael Alan Bahma, age 44, of Lamar, Missouri, passed away on December 8, 2024.

Michael was born on November 3, 1980, in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He married the love of his life, Abbigail Elaine Pollard, on February 29, 2020, in Lamar, Missouri.

Michael was a dedicated and hardworking man who made his living as a self-employed mechanic and tow truck driver. He was known for his skill, determination, and willingness to help anyone in need.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Abbi Bahma; his cherished son, Johnathan Bahma; and his sister, Jamie Bahma of North Carolina.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents.

Way to go Coach Kelsay

This past week, Robert Kelsay was inducted into the Missouri Track and Cross Country Coaches Association Hall of Fame. 

Thank you to Coach Kelsay on your many years of dedication to the track program at Archie and across the state. 

Pictured with Coach Kelsay are Dani Nelsen Seward and Tammara Cornelius. Dani and Tammara were both members of the 1983 State Championship Track team from Archie High School.

Adrian Lady Blackhawks Basketball outlasts Appleton City tonight

The Adrian Lady Blackhawks knock off the Appleton City Bulldogs 45-43 in a close round 1 matchup from the Butler Basketball tournament tonight. 

Adrian Senior Riley Essenpries led the Lady Blackhawks with 24 points and 9 rebounds. 

The Lady Blackhawks will now move onto play University Academy on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. in the 2nd round of the Butler Basketball Tournament. Enjoy some photos below of the Lady Blackhawk win tonight.






Butler Lady Bears Basketball gets nice win over Harrisonville

The Butler Lady Bears basketball team opened the Butler Tournament with a strong victory over the Harrisonville Lady Cats 52-38.

Butler was led in scoring by Sophomore Kylee Dubray who had 21 points on 7 of 8 shooting to go along with 9 rebounds. 

Junior Georgia McCoun contributed 10 points and 4 steals for the Lady Bears. Sophomore Gabbie Carmichael had an impressive 7 assists to go along with her 7 points.

Butler will now move onto play Pleasant Hill on Wednesday at 6:30 in the 2nd round of the Butler Tournament. 

Pleasant Hill cruised to a blowout win over the Rich Hill Lady Tigers. Enjoy some photos below from the win tonight.
