Ty Jeffery Talbott was born on April 8th 2006 in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Spencer & Kristi Talbott. Ty passed away on December 12th at his home in Rich Hill, Missouri.
Ty attended Rich Hill High School and was involved with Vo Tech. After graduating in May 2024, he immediately joined the Carpenters Union working alongside his Father and later he was accepted into the Operators Union in August 2024 running Haul Trucks for Lane Construction. '
In his down time he worked as a farm hand locally. Ty purchased a piece of land and was looking forward to building his first house. He had a strong work ethic and was complemented by all his employers.
Ty enjoyed fishing and camping with his friends and family, Taking many float trips to the Niangua & Current Rivers. He excelled in archery while involved in 4-H and later Trap Shooting with FFA. He grew up riding horses and going on trail rides. He enjoyed hanging out with his friends in his free time at bonfires, backroading in his 86' GMC, riding atv's, and horses. He was always supportive and helpful with his younger brother and sister.
Ty is preceded in death by his Grandfather Duane Burton & Grandparents Don & Nita Hertzog. He is survived by his Parents Spencer & Kristi Talbott and younger Siblings Levi Talbott & Lily Talbott Rich Hill, Missouri: Grandparents Sam & Shannon Root; Aunts & Uncles Sam & Lindsey Root, & Cousin Samuel Root of Kingsville, Missouri.

Butler Varsity Girls Basketball falls tonight against Pleasant Hill...
The Butler Lady Bears Varsity Basketball team fell tonight to Pleasant Hill 57-32 in the 2nd round of the Butler Tournament.
Butler was led in scoring this evening by Sophomore Kylee Dubray who had 11 points and Sophomore Gabbie Carmichael who pitched in 10 points.
The Lady Bears will take on the Adrian Lady Blackhawks on Friday evening at 5pm in the third place game of the tournament. Best of luck ladies! Enjoy some photos of the game tonight below:
Butler Junior High Boys Basketball ends the season tonight with win in Harrisonville...
The Butler JH Boys Basketball team ended their season tonight with a 43-35 victory over the Harrisonville Junior High Wildcats.
The JH Bears A-Team was led in scoring by Kyson King who had 15 points and Frazion Wisdom who added 10 to help the secure the win for the Bears.
Butler will finish the season with a 8-3 record! Thanks coach Burtch for a awesome season with some great young men. Enjoy some photos from the win tonight. Way to represent Bears!

Jamie Sue Smith, 48, Nevada, MO, passed away on Friday, December 13, 2024, at her home in Nevada. Jamie was born October 31, 1976, in Nevada, MO, to James P. and Joyce Dee (Dabbs) Heckadon, Jr. She was united in marriage to Thomas Smith on May 3rd, 1997, in Nevada and he preceded her in death on March 3rd, 2014.
Jamie was raised in the Sheldon area and attended Sheldon High School. She worked at American Legion and at Nevada Eagles. She also worked in the Wood’s Grocery Deli for the past year. One of her favorite enjoyments was the Midwest Pool League. Jamie lived most of her life in Nevada.
Survivors include two sons: Devon Smith of Nevada, Dalton Smith (Sara) of Nevada; one granddaughter, Allianna, her father, James Heckadon of the home; a sister, Kim Bogan (Loren), Prescott, KS; brother, Trenton Heckadon (Sidney), Nevada; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Tom, she was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce; and her grandparents.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 20, 2024, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. on Thursday evening at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family c/o Ferry Funeral Home.
The Butler Lady Bears Junior High Basketball A-Team completed their season tonight with a 23-19 victory over the Harrisonville Junior High Lady Cats.
The Lady Bears were led in scoring by Kiersten Dubray who had 12 points and Kinley Cook who added 7 points to lead the Lady Bears to victory tonight.
This has been such an exciting season for the Junior High Lady Bears as the A-Team will end the season with a 10-2 overall record.

David Grant Spinning, 79, Garden City Missouri died Monday December 16th 2024 at home. David was born September 21st 1945 in Garden City Missouri, the son of Grant F Spinning and Mary Lou (Amos) Spinning. David was a 1963 graduate of the Garden City High school. David married Barbara Jean Holt on June 4th 1967 at Hickory Grove Baptist church. He was a lifelong Garden City Missouri resident.
David worked 22 years at Anaconda Erickson as a machine operator and maintenance man until they closed their doors. After that he worked as a maintenance man for the Harrisonville School district for 12 years until he had to go on disability in 2000. He built some of the display cabinets that are still standing in the Harrisonville schools today.
David liked to hunt, fish, canoe, and he especially liked going 4 wheeling in Colorado with Terry and Lela Highley. He also liked to build things such as china cabinets, bird houses, and shelving for different people. He was a great woodworker among many other talents. He built the house that he lived in for 44 years. He also loved to take the grandkids camping and canoeing, sledding and spending time outside with them riding the four wheeler, picking strawberries and having weenie roasts.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Ann Jones, his brother, Daniel Spinning, and his only child, Douglas Spinning. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara, of the home. His grandchildren, Kasey Parker, Arkansas City, KS, Sean Spinning, Lenexa KS, Taylor Smith (Nick) Oak Grove, MO and Braycen Manning, Lee’s Summit, MO. His great-grandchildren, Kynzlee, Jayse and Kamryn Smith, Oak Grove, MO. His brother in laws, James Holt (Ginger), Harrisonville, MO, Richard Holt, (Betty), Warsaw, MO, Robert Jones (Barbara), Freeman, MO and his sister in law, Georgia Gilmore, Clinton, MO. He is also survived by Kasey, Taylor & Braycen’s mother, Bessa, whom he thought of as a daughter, plus many nieces, nephews and life-long friends.
Visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 20, 2024 at Heart of Life Church, Garden City, Missouri.

Rich Hill beats Adrian tonight in boys basketball action...
The Rich Hill Tigers Boys Basketball Team beat the Adrian Blackhawks 54-49 tonight in first round action from the Butler Tournament
Rich Hill was led in scoring by senior Zane Becker who had 22 points and Senior Dillon Coonce added 20 points to secure the win for the Tigers.
Rich Hill will now move onto to play the Nevada Tigers on Thursday evening in 2nd Round action from the Butler Tournament.

Janet Clare (Myers) McCaffree, 82, passed away December 16, 2024. Jan was born on July 4, 1942, to Howard C. and Virginia C. (Waddell) Myers in Crawfordsville, IN. Jan graduated from Winter Haven High School in Winter Haven, FL, in 1960. After high school, she attended Cottey College in Nevada, MO, where she graduated in 1962 with an associate's degree. While at Cottey College, she met William G. McCaffree. They were married on June 4, 1962 in Nevada, MO, and welcomed their son Mike in 1969.
She continued her education at Pittsburg State University and graduated in 1977 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
Jan was a member of The Research Club, P.E.O., and Thalias. She enjoyed traveling, attending plays and musicals, playing bridge, and reading. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her best days were spending time with family and friends, especially teaching her 6- and 7-year-old granddaughters to drive a golf cart with the game of school bus.
Jan is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Bill, of the home; her son, Mike McCaffree and his wife Julia, of Nevada, MO; four granddaughters, Shelby Clark and her husband Austin, of Springfield, MO; Madilyn McCaffree of Fayetteville, AR; Caroline McCaffree of Chicago, IL; and Allison McCaffree of Nevada, MO; one grandson, Caleb Thorns and his wife Amy of Higginsville, MO; two great-grandsons, Maddox and Oliver Thorns; her brother, Kevin Myers of Torrance, CA; her sister-in-law, Sharon Shallenberger of Tualatin, OR; two nieces, Jill Kassell and her husband Matt, of Los Angeles, CA, and Anna Fay Shallenberger; two nephews, Kurt Shallenberger of Houston, TX, and William Shallenberger of Lake Oswego, OR; two great-nephews, Wyatt and Everett Kassell; and many close friends.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Father Jim Lile officiating.
