Some sad news from Climax Springs

From a Facebook post by the Climax Springs school district. The tragedy followed games played with Northeast Vernon County on Friday

Last evening, after attending an away basketball game, three recent Climax Springs graduates were involved in a fatal motor vehicle accident. Ava Wolfe, Jayden Butterfield, and Violet Corado. Ava and Jayden were both beloved employees of the District, who dedicated their time and talent to our students each day.

As students, all of these individuals left a legacy within our school. The District will host counselors for our students and staff on Monday and Tuesday of next week. As the families and our community grieve the loss of lives which held many great things ahead of them, please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

Actual Road House now open in Jasper, Mo

Mike Kelley of Lamar, Mo obviously is a big fan of the 1989 movie "Road House" starring Patrick Swayze however, as the movie location was set fictitiously in Jasper, Mo some thought maybe it should be made real.

Kelley announced on Facebook yesterday that while not a bar, but a really nifty gas station/convenience store is now open in Jasper and is creatively themed after the movie.

Based on initial response from the post, it's likely the Jasper Road House Double Deuce will become a regular landing spot from those traveling all over the country.
